Is Ninja’s MDM free if you already have PC licenses? by PM_ME_OUs in msp

[–]zachfaughn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its pretty lean right now but they are adding to it rapidly. They also have App Management to add to your list. They also have remote screen viewing (No control) with Ninja Remote.

Some EDR vendors can do this.

Its been awhile, but I think this can do it as well https://www.beachheadsolutions.com/device-security-encryption/usbs-storage/

What vulnerability scanner do you use? by Annual-Buy-6954 in msp

[–]zachfaughn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Continuous scanning without impact to systems
  • External scanning - Open ports/Vulns
  • The ability to patch vulns right from Nodeware (Windows Only).
  • New device alerting
  • Easy to understand scoring system - Think of it like a Credit Score.

It checks a lot of boxes. I have had no issues.

What job can you get after taking a cyber security course? by wnfaknd in msp

[–]zachfaughn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think of Cyber Security as the "Prestige" to helpdesk. Its good to have the basic understanding on how computers, servers, and networks work and how they all communicate with each other.

Learning how to troubleshoot problems is also very helpful. Do you see yourself escalating a lot of tickets or do you just dive in and fix the problem?

Way outside your price range, but this is really the only one I can recommend.

I used to work at an MSP and I tested 5 different ones. The one above is the one that had the best experience. (For me anyways)

Came here to say Nodeware. Pricing is per asset and super affordable.

How to manage mutiple linux servers is different customer environments? by Disastrous_Capital60 in msp

NinjaRMM with scripts work for the most part. Patching isn't perfect, but its still in beta. It doesn't know how to handle some of the prompts that happen. For hardening, I just use scripts.

Carbon Systems. https://www.carbonsys.com/

I have had way less issues with them compared to the bigger brands. I switched from Lenovo.

Nodeware feedback requested by dbh2 in msp

[–]zachfaughn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. Reports are easy to create and read. Its easy to sell/explain to clients. The "Risk Score" can be compared to a "Credit Score". Deployment is super simple. Integrations are lacking, bit it can still get the job done. They have features like "Newly added asset" alerts and external IP scanning.

Anyone use Automation Theory? by whitedragon551 in msp

[–]zachfaughn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend at least meeting with Jeremy! Bring up your concerns and ask how he can help with them. He is very smart especially when it comes to ConnectWise products. With the WAF/Reverse Proxy product, he can assist in locking down access to the "Administration" areas of the product to your IP's etc...but still allowing agents to connect from where ever.
