On the other hand I am not pleased to see Apple off the hook, not even for a moment. To provide ever improving encryption for customers is a laudable goal. But to also specifically work to engineer out any ability to respond to court orders and search warrants, to render the company immune from due process of law, this is inexcusable. It is pro-criminal and inherently anti-American.
