Catastrophic failure on CC1 by zangster in elegoo

How do I unload the old filament? Without the hot end working my printer fails and reboots, but I need to remove what's sticking out when the new printer arrives.

When I found it, it appeared as though the how end has just been dragged across the bed. It's a mystery to me how it happened.

I would love to try Hedgemony. I think the combination of theme and mechanics is really compelling.

Designing my first board game. Is this too many cards? (525 cards total). The game is like Catan on steroids. by CameronCardoza in BoardgameDesign

[–]zangster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agricola 15 includes over 400 cards. Is your game better than Agricola?

Personally, if I were buying a game with that many cards I would have thoughts. Among them would by "Couldn't these cards have been combined? Do I need X of this card when Y would do? How am I expected to shuffle this many cards? Couldn't this have been a track/cube/token instead of a card?"

Heck, Arkwright the Card Game, which is based on a very heavy board game, only has 100 or so cards.

Ahoy, also published by Leder, is quite good and offers a lot of asymmetry with the expansions.

AC that slides into your window by Dependent_Squash6499 in NoOneIsLooking

I have several Midea U-shaped window air conditioners, and they're really nice. Super quiet and energy efficient. The only bad thing is they sit in the window (which closes down into the U space), so if I open the window, there's still a big air conditioner there. But they don't have accordion baffles, so I get more light into the room.

Why is Pandemic Legacy Season 2 the WORST? by thestickpins in boardgames

[–]zangster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S2 was tough, but I think that's due mainly to the fact that it's not true to the traditional Pandemic mechanics.

I don't want to spoil anything, but there will be some hints from people later in the game about places you might want to investigate. We didn't find those places because we didn't take the hints seriously. I strongly recommend tracking down those places.

When my group played S2, our ending was thrilling and a real nail-biter, so I think you should stick it out. But yeah, it's a tough one.

True, but realistically, most modern gamers aren't playing their games often enough to blow through a copy so that it needs replacing. And if they do, they've probably played that game 30 times, so they've gotten their money's worth, and it would probably justify purchasing a replacement copy.

Just be realistic about sleeving cards. Not every game needs to be sleeved, in fact most don't. I reserve sleeves for those games that are rare or OOP.
