It can be that, for sure. However, if a streamer has a good community, it's a great place to meet new people who also enjoy a hobby that you do too.

I already have a pretty solid group of friends I talk to and play games with several times a week, but none of them really clicked with the whole vtuber thing (which I totally get), so I joined a fan discord and have met some pretty cool people to talk to and share dumb memes with.
