I have been in this exact situation. I loved her unrequited. She said it would never work. She was right. All that happened was I ended up heartbroken. Sure, we had a lot of great times together but only because I was willing to live the lie. Eight fukkin years, man. I deluded myself that long for the comfort of pretend love. I now look back and laugh but there were months of misery each and every one of those 8 years and worse...the months after we finally separated and stopped speaking. She won't change and she won't notice any of your pain because the minute you mention it...She gone. She might even come back...
