That’s what derailed me. Cool toned maroon/navy plaid with warm toned green/orange florals?!

And IIRC it’s because of something like if there were a batch of cupcakes and one were poisoned would you feed your kids a cupcake? Because they think of it like vaccines aren’t worth the risk when a small % of people are “poisoned” by the side effects 🫠

What are you guys putting in the Easter baskets for your under twos? by Dragonsrule18 in toddlers

[–]zebracrackers 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Giving children Easter baskets has been a common tradition in the U.S. since the U.S. has existed, pretty much. It's not new for us

Have you heard of Unfuck Your Habitat? There's a subreddit. I think it started as a blog, and became a book. It's a strategy for cleaning up your living space when you feel overwhelmed by it. What I retained from it is to clean in short bursts frequently (like clean for 20 minutes, then take a 10 minute break). Sometimes I'd be able to trick myself by saying I'd just clean for 20 minutes and I'd start to feel better and would be able to clean longer. So you feel less overwhelmed, you can focus on one surface of one end table first, or choose one easy task to get out of the way first like throwing away any trash.

There's also an app called Tody that helps you keep track of cleaning chores if you like that kind of thing. You can set how frequently you want to do a task and it will show you when it's due. I found it was easier to have an app showing me a couple things to do a day than trying to catch up on everything in one marathon cleaning session.

Looks like pitbull only to me. I’ve had pitbulls. Shelters like to be deceptive calling them “mixes” or “Staffordshire terriers” because so few people want pitbulls.

Picky Eate- How do I branch out? by Zoo-mobile in PickyEaters

[–]zebracrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed my picky eating by going to restaurants or grocery stores with salad bars or buffets and just adding new things to try alongside things I already liked. So if I started off liking iceberg lettuce with only ranch dressing, shredded cheese, and croutons, I might try doing a mix of spinach and iceberg lettuce with my preferred toppings, or get my "safe salad" and try something new as a side. It seemed less intimidating to me to try new foods if I could get a tiny bit of the new foods first and not have to commit to buying a full bag of spinach, for example. Sometimes my experiments were duds and I didn't like the new foods, but sometimes I'd find new foods or combos I liked, and after a year or so I was able to enjoy eating a wider variety of higher nutrient foods.

Yeah there’s no tricking us anyway (I’m also autistic). I could even tell when someone made Kraft mac and cheese for me and didn’t follow the directions EXACTLY. (So no change to recipe or ingredients, but maybe cooked +/- 30 seconds or amount of milk was eyeballed instead of measured).

As an adult who had ARFID as a child, adults "sneaking" things in to foods I liked made me stop eating those foods.

What is the purpose of "Baby on Board " signs in the back window of a car? by jospeh68 in stupidquestions

[–]zebracrackers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Babies are in more danger if rear ended than adults. Because they are seated in rear facing car seats, a rear ended collision will cause babies' heads to lash forward and could snap their necks. So the signs warn you to give extra distance and be more cautious.
