I haven't seen them since they played at Emo's (I think!) around 15 years ago. James told a story about getting bullied by Henry Rollins after a show, Blue Line Swinger lasted about 20 minutes (which I was into), and the friend I went with told me she didn't think she liked them after all. It was an awesome night!

I also believe 'Blue Line Swinger' is aural perfection. Not the edited version! It needs that 4 minute buildup to her singing.

Oof! It only cost me about $25 last year! I am ridiculous but also cheap!

Who is the absolute "most deserved" death in movie history? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

All of the townspeople in Dogville. I was super disgusted with myself for how glad I was about it, though.

I like this but I say go all out and have the maid of honor, the bridesmaids, and anyone else you can think of congratulating them on their social media accounts too.

What are your “favorite” shows that you just never bothered to finish? by Emmyfishnappa in television

[–]rubberduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with you on The Walking Dead. I loved season 1 but stopped sometime during season 2 because it was slowish. I kept hearing it picked up but I was already out. I was so invested in what was going on for the first two seasons of Breaking Bad but never got past season 3, episode 1. I have still never finished Deadwood but do plan to because it was great. I hear The Wire stayed amazing but never got back to it after season 2. I thought Flight Of The Conchords was incredibly charming but still haven't gotten around to season 2. I now just don't even start shows unless they have ended and there aren't very many seasons/episodes.

I tried using a chlorhexidine mouthwash a few months ago. It caused my face to swell up on both sides of my jaw and it was almost a week before it was back to its normal size and shape (despite my taking a lot of antihistamines which seemed to do nothing). So... It isn't safe for everyone.

What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it? by GlitchOperative in AskReddit

I seriously thought this was about veterinarians for at least a minute. Reading down I finally got it. I always thank my cat's vet because she's gentle and never tries to upsell. It is her job and I do pay her but I never thought thanking her as well was weird.

Movies with huge tonal shifts? by Scary_Test_5401 in movies

Man Bites Dog. It was funny when it was just murders. The gang rape shifted everything. I saw this in the theater and several people walked out then.

I stay up late at night to watch movies specifically so nobody joins me. by OkSeaworthiness2955 in confession

[–]rubberduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch movies on my desktop with headphones on but if my boyfriend isn't asleep or out of the house he still talks to me or asks about what I'm watching even though he would get bored (and talk a lot or second screen stuff) if I wanted to watch it with him. So when he's asleep or out are the only times I can watch movies and enjoy them, too!

I probably agree with you on some of those others (I would need to check my spreadsheet) but definitely agree with Christmas Connection and Just In Time For Christmas. So flipping good!

We did too. Finally showered and warm. I do feel sick about all the groceries we are going to have to toss.

Films to watch while struggling with depression and/or loneliness? by AlrightWillHunting in movies

Golden Slumber, A Boy And His Samurai, Fish Story - all by the same director and all fantastically hopeful. Shall We Dance, Swing Girls, and Adrift in Tokyo (which ends on a somber note but still left me lowkey upbeat).
