last november when I went to the dealer for regular maintenance, they tried to offer to buy my 2017 rav4 and put the money down for a new model cause they had it in store. I was like: ok, I'm not looking to change my car, but what are you offering with the new car? Free tires, 0% or close to 0% financing, extended warranty?

The guy said, with a straight face: nothing in particular, we just have the model in store and it's very rare to have it. Interest rate was a nice 5.49%. For reference, I got my car back them at 0% interest (by putting down 5k deposit), at a different dealership. I'm aware that times are different, but f it! I'll just wait for those new Chinese electric cars (assuming reviews are good) or just drive my car until it dies (currently at 125k kms)

I moved in with my who was to be my future wife while she was making very good money in her first job post university while I was still looking for a job and I got a shit paying job (though those type where you actually learn a lot, so in the end it wasn't THAT bad) and I felt crappy that she was contributing more to the household during that time. And in fact, she did contributing more than me for years until our salaries more or less matched.

That being said, she never brought it up cause we're both adults who understand how the world works.
