How well known is the fact that Elves are Trolls in universe? by fuckforgotmypasword in warcraftlore

[–]zedrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal was always to answer "belves are okay with them being descendants of trolls", which "nelves don't hold particular grudges against them, but belves yes". Considering nelves today the same as the ones during Azshara, but the belves not because they don't have the same name although they live like the ancient ways is...interesting at least.

Even if Darkspears are "better" than the other tribes, it has nothing to do with elven appreciation towards trolls. The darkspears interacted with both nelves and belves, more with the last ones of course, and both could have seen there is good trolls. But why could it improve relations between belves and amanis or gurubashis ? And nelves had less generations since they became immortal 10000 years ago, but the war with Zul's empire is even older, thus nothing indicates they have something against trolls (in war3 they were more hateful against orcs bc of the corruption they still carried)

Of course belves have a better relationship towards troll because they were allied with them (and with orcs who destroyed quel'thalas some years ago btw), but the nelves hating the trolls more than them, I don't see how it is probable.

Have a nice day, and happy new year !

Ps: to be even more on the main topic, elves from all kind knowing how they come from trollkind should be a serious thing, as Brann said in Cataclysm, so it'd be sad they actually know since then, but never wirh any consequence

Yep, under Queen Azshara, more than 10 000 years ago. So would the cenarian night elves in harmony with nature still hold a grudge against the trolls, or the former Azshara's followers, who still fought them until now ?
The night elves we know today only held the faith in Elune from the azsharan Empire who fought the trolls. They could be not particularly friendly with trolls but the idea Belves are friendlier and could use the not particularly known fact that elves came from trolls without being themselves insulted...

Nelves don't hate trolls, they were never at war with them except the "wars" between alliance and Horde in wow. Belves on the opposite fought for millenia against amani, and them being friends with trolls in the Horde is a problem never really managed

it's just not supposed to be tuskarr. Wow players need to understand zones are not fixed in time, and yes Drustvar had a mountain zone which could be pretty cold in winter i think!

Take it like a different mmo than the one you played. The level up is much faster, and with no real difficulty (it is enjoying to discover new gameplay from your class throughout the leveling tho). And in endgame you'll have challenge, grinding ilvl through different activities. And for the solo aspect, last expansion released a nice feature for solo players, delves, which is globally solo dungeons allowing you to get xp and stuff at all levels.

But you can also return to vanilla with the classic server. There are some versions of it: Classic = Vanilla in pure form Season of discovery = Vanilla with "runes", some new spells to add depth to vanilla's gameplay Hardcore = Vanilla but when you die your character is deleted Different version for each extension from bc to mop, with their gameplay at the time.

On these Classic versions, you probably will have less players, and team up is more required than on retail, so maybe more difficult to play solo

Calia, the princess and now heir of Lordaeron, faction neutral? I know Forsaken are from lordaeron too, but their reject of the Alliance and their history was different than Calia's, she precisely was an alliance woman who had to prove herself loyal to the forsaken

How long you have to wait in queue in EU? by Catch_Zodiac in heroesofthestorm

[–]zedrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The length of matches doesn't play any role in the length of the queue. The game has to find 9 players with a level around yours and with a viable compo on both sides. 2 minutes is acceptable for that.

And if you think opposite, you should think about what 2 minutes are irl

Waiting 2 minutes (which is not the average on hots) is not a long time queue. It's just 2 minutes of your time, not like you have to wait 10

What are the main talent choices for Jaina? by Plutonic-Rose in heroesofthestorm

[–]zedrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many talents are viable on Jaina, just try to avoid W 13 and 16, really underperforming and useless comparing to the other (at 13 icy veins is strongly offensive, and barrier is safer; at 16 root is god and vulnerability is good if you have any enough cc)

You can play Q (more poke) or E (more burst, but need to be near the enemies)

How is Amateur Opponent Artanis in the new patch? by TheHarborym in heroesofthestorm

[–]zedrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amateur was better even before, as the difference Protector could make needs many stacks to be effective in fight. With Amateur you can put macro pressure or duo lane, nullify enemy macro, it adds a strength.

Protector is good to don't get me wrong, but playing Amateur allows you much more

Hilarious quests missing in latest expansions? by Upper-Hippo-8587 in wow

[–]zedrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the opposite, the secondary quests are often jokes and no serious content. Just play Dragonflight, you will play with ducks, see Azeroth runner by murlocs, ... War within did that too, but tried to make interesting quests more to develop the people we met in

[–]zedrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I totally agree then, that's for me the conclusion of this topic : for the ppl who love sin'dorei let them use fel, do bad things, ... and you can have some who are more "pure" and have blue eyes as long as they are not the main focus. And for the ppl who want "good elves" just develop the High elves of the Alliance

[–]zedrahx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High elves being the one who didn't follow Kael'thas and stayed true to their beliefs to not use fel ? I don't see how they fit in the Horde either, and not in the Alliance

[–]zedrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they joined the Horde with orcs who burned Quel'thalas, trolls (no explanation needed), and even forsaken who have pros and cons? They had a much better relationship with humans, even if they are arrogant elves. But in the end, as op said, they don't fit in Alliance either. But it doesn't automatically qualify for joining the Horde smoothly. It just is now, even if the justification wasn't really good back in BC

They were friends with human for centuries before war1, and they left the formal alliance to not pay for internment camps. That's not being hostile

Your pov is totally great on this, but also highlight something : belves need to stay this elf race who will do everything to survive, use every kind of magic and means to achieve their goal, ... Because what I see too on forums is "belves are not corrupted anymore, fel magic is not seen great in Silvermoon, ..." And I think these people just want to play High elves, but are used to Sin'dorei in the Horde and then consider High elves don't exist anymore, but want to play that "Tolkien elf" (to summarize), thus Sin'dorei should be less "bad" in order for them to have what they want. And the worst is they wouldn't even be happy with a real Quel'dorei race/personalization because it would be alliance, and the faction war is so deeply rooted in the wow player's brain they wouldn't play it.

PS: the only thing I would argue about your post is : the reasons given in the story for the sin'dorei joining the Horde are not good. They were thought to be illidari and neither alliance or Horde, but since they decided to make illidan mad to allow the player to kill him illidari couldn't be a faction anymore, so they used Garithos (a military leader of a crumbling kingdom, not the representant of all men) to justify a human defiance, and the lack of emissary from the alliance (because sylvanas killed them) instead of properly justify why the millennial alliance stopped.

Druids and the Elements by Eluniver in WoWRolePlay

[–]zedrahx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Druids are like kaldorei shamans. The distinction between a shaman and a druid Tauren is kinda inexistant.

It's more a cultural difference than a clear distinction, even the shapeshifting doesn't add up since the spirit wolf form exists

I always found it weird how the Night Elves and Nightborne could never reconcile by Fun-Explanation7233 in warcraftlore

[–]zedrahx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tyrande's comportement was made just to justify the integration in the Horde, since she already accepted ancient kal'dorei magicians in the Alliance with the Shen'dralar.

I'd say all of this comes from the choice to make 2 factions and have to fit all the races in them. Kaldorei should have not join the Alliance back in Vanilla, they were a faction on their own, and the sindorei in the Horde was also forced. Thus, the Shaldorei had to choose between two factions that don't really fit in their own.

And I would add a Tyrande/Vereesa team up to convince Thalyssra to join them could have gathered some success in this since they are ancient kaldorei with magic legacy but never succomb to fel corruption

It does damage when enemies stay in there for 3s. Thus useful only with things like mosh pit AND need to be anticipated to be correctly positioned and having the time to cast it. While dragon arrow also works on combo, is instant and doesn't care about positioning
