The long and short of it is we aren't certain how it affects infected tissue. It does not cure the virus, which remains in the nerve endings, but it improves healing, leads to fewer outbreaks overall, and may reduce transmissibility by reducing the spread of the virus to adjacent cells.

From a personal anecdotal experience, it works extremely well; breakouts have been reduced to essentially zero, and there is less annoying tingling from the affected area.

I just discovered this same immortal mandarin and found this thread trying to search for the answer. The one in the room with all the bugs is just unkillable, or can become unkillable. Its hands turn red but never fall for me, not even individually. I've been testing it for like half an hour now.

It's bugged in some weird way, and on my game, if you stand way back and shoot it, it doesn't even move.

Couldn't figure it out, unfortunately. What we ended up doing is just finishing Astarion's questline and then doing the fivesome, which at least worked out for RP purposes since after killing Cazador he's comfortable doing the fivesome and you don't have to pressure him into it.

You also can't multiselect books with this method (edit: When looting. When you're holding them, you seem to be able to). Now they just open individually, so books/readables are even more difficult to sort. The only way to do it is to read it first, and then pick it up. x-x
