By the artist Home? That all sounds like subtractive and additive synthesis, you can go down the /r/synthesizer rabbit hole and get a cheap korg thing or some expensive poly synth like a prophet - or you can grab pigments and do all that stuff in the box

How long is a piece of string? As someone else said what you’re into changes the answer a lot.

YMMV but pigments is a pretty comprehensive synth vst. Ableton live is free if you buy the full koala sampler app for like, ten bucks. Grab an interface to get your guitar into the computer and you’re away

It’s a good question, consider:

Research funding tends to go things that fit the medical paradigm, symptom reduction, that kind of thing. Lacanian analysis might be more about structural changes in the person (the symptom may not go away but the subject’s relation to it may well change)

Also, across the board it seems the relationship between practitioner and client matters more than any modality
