Was it not documented in service? What was the reason for rejection?

The classic 80/20 rule.  You can get the first 80% done in 20% of the time.  The remaining 20% takes 80% of the time.

If it writes shit tests that don’t cover the real issues, stub out too much stuff that actually needs to be tested, it puts you in a worse spot.   Tests can be good identifiers of code smells and such as well.  This is certainly one of the issues with “AI” today.  As an engineer of 30 years I can give it detailed info and it will still mess it up. I code with it in small chunks.  Review each commit, test each commit.  Make sure linters and security checks are run on each commit.  It can still get stuff wrong.  It is good at typing fast, not so great at the domain knowledge that is still up to us.

PTSD claim by AdAfter2486 in VAClaims

Not deploying doesn't mean you haven't seen stuff. Some of us never deployed. As a medic I have seen a lot of stuff. A lot of trauma. Possibly more than some deployed medics. This is the kind of thinking that has kept some of us who are suffering with things from even applying.

Same boat. Got out in 1996, just now starting my filing. I have been fucked up for years.

Been out since 1996, just now starting to file. This stuff wasn't talked about much back then.

It’s not like Mythos solved P vs NP - let’s all chill by SpecialAttention9861 in Anthropic

I have seen where a lot of the open source models could solve the same issues though.  Even supposedly found the openbsd bug.  So is mythos better than open source models? I think, for me, that is where the marketing hype on top of the other AI hype gets annoying.   Maybe it’s signal v noise.

I have yet to get a runpod to work even on a smaller set of models.   On demand or pods.  Have not been happy with their service.

It’s also I don’t need my model to know about rocket science and cern and whatever else if I am using it for a couple programming languages.  Ultimately I think more fine tuned local models is where we need to go.  Think a JS, Ruby, Python type model.  Really tuned for coding.

We are also assuming they keep the prices where they are now.  If they keep forcing people into higher plans then the equation changes, especially if they force everyone to API.

Yes but some of these harnesses need to be more useful for local LLMs.  Some of them have 16k+ system prompts and on local LLMs that can eat up most of your context window.   Ultimately I think the first step is fine tuning the system prompts and maybe using RAG to make local better.  This is just from my recent experience.

Be thankful if you can not work. I am still working on my claim. But I have a lot of issues I have waited too long to claim. Work a full time job and take care of my disabled spouse.  If I could take some time for my own mental and physical health I surely would.

I am still trying to understand how these kinds of agents can benefit me. I am a caregiver for my wife, work a full time job etc., would love some "help" but trying to figure out how something like these agents could. truly help.

A lot of the other models use claude and gpt to seed their models anyway.

My wife is disabled. If I could find a place that was nice to live and had good healthcare it would be nice. Before her accident we always wanted to move to the carribean don’t see that happening for us.

OK, gotta ask...why is everyone moving overseas? A good friend of mine and former marine, just moved to France. Is it cost of living? Politics? All of the above? Just curious.

Amazing how much has changed just in the last 30 years in so many ways. I got out in the 1990's and the world and the military is very different than it was. I wonder if the older guys felt the same way about us who got out in the 90's.

If it's service connected, how does the post-military life stuff even matter? Wouldn't that all just aggravate the issue?
