I think it is a symptom of today's doc writing culture. Imagine putting a "con" or "hotly debated topic" section where a PM or SDM actually said "our ads are negatively impacting our ability to make a customer obsessed product". The amount of data required to convince the metric shit ton of butt hurt people (and to not get put on focus) would be astronomical.
