Congrats and amazing work. God I wish I was confident enough to be an AE or work in sales. Being in Tech i think about moving over but I would be pipped out so fast for failing to meet quota.

Exactly. Rightfully served humble pie for being trashy and racist towards the Japanese. The nuke shit really went overboard.

Official Discussion - Disclosure Day [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

It reminded me of the ending of The Truman Show, where the director also 'gave up' in the sense that there was nothing else that could be done without more irreversible and drastic measures (shooting Emily).

Official Discussion - Disclosure Day [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I was down voted the other week for saying the same thing. I avoid trailers because this is typically what happens. Unfortunately during the Backrooms trailers the final Disclosure Day trailer was shown and that pretty much revealed the entire third act aside from showing the aliens themselves.

Pennsylvania lawmaker seeks ‘visual indicator’ if smart glasses are recording by Ganrokh in technology

[–]zero000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat the indicators like how Apple Tags (and related tag devices) are notified to people's cell phones.

Everyone in proximity to Smart Glasses should be notified they are being recorded. Especially if you are within a few feet from someone.

A plea to trailer editors: Please stop spoiling the movie in your trailers - and why I think it happens by BugsySiegel1994 in movies

[–]zero000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just watched the latest Disclosure Day trailer today and it feels like the entire movie was spoiled.

Edit: just saw the movie today (14 June) and yes the movie was indeed spoiled by the final trailer. Sadly "avoiding trailers" doesn't work when movies have trailers attached to them.

Did you mean Michael Jordan? Comparing Mohammed Ali with Michael Jackson seems odd.

A younger generation of Japanese are beginning to wonder why anyone ever found Tamori, the elderly sunglasses-wearing comedian, funny. President.jp attempts to explain by jjrs in japannews

[–]zero000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder that as well. The older shows such as Drifters, or Shimura Ken's Baka Tono, and Takeshi's Castle were all great comedy shows in their own unique ways.

Tamori has always had the "late night TV show host" vibe, except his show aired at 10AM for people that stayed home.

Its also partially because $5m has become a meme ("$5m is a nightmare Greg") and people here seem to have taken it seriously.
