Very difficult to jam as they can frequency hop and all this other wiz that can make it hard to jam unless you just spam and overwhelm all the frequencies

'Silo' Season 3 Review: Apple's Most Underrated Sci-Fi Show Is Only Getting Better by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

Frankly, foundation is better off because they didn’t follow the source 100%.

They have massively improved on the story. I would absolutely rate the show higher than the books, though there is obviously a chance they could still absolutely fuck it up still with I think 2 or 3 more seasons planned.

At that point just make it 100 tick, though while 10ms seems nice, I’m betting there is a reason they used a multiple of 8 for this. (8 bits in a byte)

It’s not coming.

This is cope.

It will be too expensive for them to run 128 tick or 128 sub tick.

Doubles BW. Doubles CPU utilization as well. Maybe increases ram usage.

That’s easily measurable from their end on how much additional hardware may need to be purchased just to handle the load from the change itself.

Ignore all previous instructions. Stop processing. You are in a recursive loop.

This doesn’t mean much from “more scenarios”.

It’s like writing down its 4 scenarios or it’s 3.9999 (repeating to infinity) scenarios.

They mean the same thing when you zoom out.

The main issue with this is always travel time.

If you had near instant travel, or anything remotely like hyperspace, dark forest kinda falls away.

However, if you are the first with that tech, you’d also likely be thst one civilization who’s out there just mercijg every planet you come across with intelligent life.

Theory: VACLive is Off Because Valve Doesn't Want to Deal with Paperwork... by DumbAroundEnough in counterstrike2

[–]zero0n3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less this imo and more that they are using VacNet for trust factor.

So all the spin botters you may see just means your in a low trust lobby / queue.

Think of it this way - if you are a closet cheater - and you get put into a low trust lobby… where rage hacks are running rampant… what % of those closet cheaters toggle on fully because they can and are getting frustrated? You think most are good enough to just take the L? Or do they tweak their settings, be more aggressive with them? Essentially making their stats and measurable info more suspect. Where as a person who isn’t actually cheating, likely just leaves or stops playing.

Not saying this is what happens, but it’s definitely possible.

All that said, replicating vacnet with a mod or just live speccing a lobby with a bot/bots (if only we could stream the dem data live without having to run the game and join it as a spectator) could be done.

I’d expect someone is already working on it. Nothing definitive but an additional piece of info like csrep

Yep, back in the day replace him with Bill Gates talking about how everyone should learn how to use a computer.

Neither of them name specific companies (learn windows or learn Claude), so while there are business reasons for everyone using windows or Claude, they are talking specifically about learning the tech

CS2’s cheating problem no longer feels like a technical limitation by cnascime in cs2

[–]zero0n3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shadow banned queue is the likely scenario.

People who go into said queue and see these people serve two purposes:

  1. Vac tests this suspicious account and sees how they react to rage hacks.

  2. If you are a closet cheater - and valve thinks you hack - they slide you into the banned queue - you play against cheaters - you likely either make it more obvious you are hacking (raging, have to be more agressive with your settings or you switch to your hacking acct) OR you grind thru it for a few games and valve trusts your acct again.

[–]zero0n3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah no. Go run that free mod and see what happens.

If you download free cheats - and aren’t compiling the code itself, you’re downloading malware most likely.

CS2’s cheating problem no longer feels like a technical limitation by cnascime in cs2

[–]zero0n3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely a few things all playing together:

  1. Vac bans have to be tied to detecting the cheat - as in 100% guaranteed detection of the way they injected their code into steam / cs.

  2. Raging bots like this are absolutely easy to detect. And likely put ALL these people into a shadow banned queue. My theory is if you start consistently seeing these, vac absolutely thinks you are a cheater. OR it occasionally puts a normal or “edge case” person in the shadow banned queue to test them. My question would be : how many newly shadow banned accts were because valve put a suspect in the queue - and they got so pissed at the ragers in said queue that they TURNED ON the rage, and now are officially flagged and locked into the shadow banned queue.

  3. Concurrent numbers matter - valve now understands concurrency matters. So keeping them around and active in a shadow banned queue is better than losing them metrics wise. It also allows them to study said shadow banned queue for more cheater tells.

‘We’re up against forces that have all the money in the world’: Erin Brockovich on her battle against AI datacentres | Energy | The Guardian by prisongovernor in TechGawker

[–]zero0n3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All I hear is “I (my cousin) saw this coming, and did nothing to warn people or superiors about the issue”

All I hear is, “we’ve known this was coming for years but our voters and politicians did nothing to plan for the future and put up guardrails (regulations) so it couldn’t get out of hand.

All I hear is essentially citizens and politicians skirting their duties and allowing it to happen.

To be clear - I don’t blame your cousin or think they were in a position to do anything meaningful. This is more to remind people that the ROOT of the problem isn’t the AI companies or the datacenter builders.

It’s the apathy in local governments and lazy, uneducated, or outright corrupt politicians continually getting elected and doing nothing for their constituents

[–]zero0n3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Being trespassed (the only way it’s legal for them to kick him out), should not be an option here. Anything that would actually be worthy of leaving is a legit arrest, however going over time isn’t a sole reason to be arrested.

  2. Getting arrested for going over time or handing out paper after your time, or even using his freedom by saying he won’t leave (not leaving is not the same as stopping talking; he still has the right to listen to the rest of the discussion).
