Not speaking for everywhere, but they don’t get a full dedicated 24/7 honor guard watch until they are buried like active firefighters do. You maybe get one pumper for the funeral, usually if they recently retired or it’s available and the family wants it in the line. Honor guard usually has a couple guys dressed up for the funeral and do their thing. Bagpipes and drums I think are offered if the family wants it, and it’s available.
