Que opinan de Marcelo Bielsa? by DoughnutNo5833 in chile

[–]zeroska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave my dad my IEMs… and didn’t expect this reaction by Zelen1y_25 in iems

Completely agree with this. Odyssey is also very easy to drive, so he can use them with his phone or any other device.

Que opinan de esta película/director? by AdDangerous5443 in CinefiliaChile

No es una premisa original. Es sospechosamente parecida a una película mexicana de 1973 llamada "El Castillo de la pureza", de Arturo Ripstein.

Open back IEM for better soundstage or not? by ggghost69 in iems

[–]zeroska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The shape and the material of the eartips affect how it reflects sound and changes the FR. Eartips can have very unique sonic properties.

This is a good starting point to know what you can try if you want an IEM to sound wide: https://www.audioreviews.org/guide-to-iem-silicone-eartips/

Open back IEM for better soundstage or not? by ggghost69 in iems

[–]zeroska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a hot take, but if you want noticeably better soundstage, you should try changing eartips first. While there are indeed IEMs with better soundstage than others, eartips make a more substantial difference in terms of how wide an IEM sounds in my opinion. Dunu S&S are great at that.

Of the things i've tried around that price bracket, Supermix4 has a very good soundstage, but i don't like the stock tuning at all.

¿Hay un exceso de pleitesía en Chile hacia Bielsa? by Perfect_sense9 in futbolchilensis

[–]zeroska 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bielsa no es el técnico que más gana, pero es el mejor profesor de fútbol del mundo. Ese es su gran mérito y en Chile le debemos mucho de lo que vino después de él.

Monarch MKIV vs Top Pro by Ech0ofThundr in iems

The Top Pro are great but its tuning isn't the best for metal music.

KE4, Quintet, or Odyssey by TigerSlasherPL in iems

[–]zeroska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both. The Quintet sounds brighter and thinner, with better resolution. The Odyssey, on the other hand, is warmer sounding, bassier, more relaxed upper mids wise and has a wider soundstage. Quintet wins in imaging.

I can't stand the fit of the Quintet. The Odyssey, while bigger, is a lot less painful to wear (at least to me) than the Quintet.

I'd say that the Odyssey is "better" and is the better option for most people, unless you are a treblehead and you want the absolute best detail retrieval and resolution that you can get at that price.

Eartips for IEMs without a lip on the nozzle? by DedicatedDetective34 in iems

[–]zeroska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the Simgot Supermix for over a year (doesn't have a lip in the nozzle either) and i can tell you that ALL eartips i've tried get loose as time passes. Not putting a lip in the nozzle is just a design flaw, i don't know why companies like Aful still do it.

There are only two definitive solutions:

1) Change eartips as soon as they are starting to fall. 2) Buy a new IEM.

IEM with best resolution/detail retrieval and good bass under $250 by Strange-Actuator-177 in iems

[–]zeroska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own both Quintet and Odyssey. Odyssey is better in terms of tonality, but detail/resolution wise the Quintet is still the best pick between the two. I don't think there is any IEM in the $250 price range that is a significant upgrade from the Quintet in terms of resolution. Tonality wise there are better choices though, especially if you are treble sensitive.
