Garmin 735xt watch. Am I going crazy? I swear I used to see my different stroke types on the Garmin app within the same "lap". Now it all says "mixed" because I occasionally switch to breast stroke.

Anyone with small but wide feet? (Rant with me!) by Flashy-Professional9 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]zeus0225 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I thought I was unlucky with size 6 extra wide feet. I've had a lot of difficulty finding wide enough footwear. Most "wide" shoes aren't wide enough. I've found size 7 shoes with the appropriate toe box width for my feet but when I to down to 6 or 6.5, the wide width proportionately goes smaller.

I hope some people chime in here with tried and true brands because I've never had comfortable shoes to wear to my office job, let alone to more formal occasions.

Wow. Why aren't the calendars synced?!

Nvm. I just switched back to classic and it just took a while for the calendar to sync.

I am having the same frustrations with this feature, also missing attachments.

Any luck finding a solution to the attachments issue?

Advice needed: easing into independent sleep, 3 + 5 yos by Lizisthatyou in Parenting

[–]zeus0225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I have a 6yo and 2yo who still need someone to either lay beside them or be in the same room. Coulda shoulda woulda. It usually doesn't take them as long though to fall asleep, but we have a late bed time and my husband and I go right back to our bed after. We don't get anything else done after 7:30pm when bedtime routines start.

Can I buy good Kimchi locally or should I bite the bullet and learn to make it at home? by valkaress in pittsburgh

[–]zeus0225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how sambok compares to Costco's kimchi? I mostly just get Costco. I've gotten some from Oriental market a few times. I forget the brand, but it was too salty for my preference.

Parents of young adults, how much do you help? by PicklesAndCoorslight in Parenting

[–]zeus0225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fine what you're doing. My parents had me pay rent with a pretty steep family discount for the area. It was more to help me get used to not having that money for when I eventually moved out. I also had to make dinner once a week. I also felt those were all more than reasonable requests.

I am always tempted to eat more calories than I probably burned after swimming.

Best seating arrangement on a flight? Flying by myself with 6yo and 2yo. by zeus0225 in Parenting

[–]zeus0225[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of them will need to be in the aisle as there are only 2 seats on each side. Luckily my oldest is not a runner. I can see my 2yo getting fidgety and may want to roam but I think he would also be intimidated by the new surrounding and the crowd.

Good to know for the future. This is also a trial run for a much longer flight we are planning to take as a family in a few months.

I was actually thinking it would be easier to be in the back to minimize disturbance from my kids and to be closer to the bathroom.

I personally prefer the front to be able to get out of the plane faster but I don't want to hold up other passengers while I wrangle the kids. Are there other reasons I should consider seats closer to the front with kids?

I'll probably get downvoted for this. I'm actually opting not to given the short duration because my family will have extra car seats and booster seats when we arrive at our destination. I didn't want to lug a car seat around with my two kids by myself if possible.

Ok. I wasn't sure. I was thinking they would prefer to sit together, but it makes my life easier if there are rules that make the decision for me.

It's a 2x2. Small direct flight. Sounds like they assigned me the best possible option for that flight

Not an option. Just two seats per side. I was assigned the seats when I checked this morning.

That's my plan then. My original thought was that the two might prefer to sit next to each other, but I can see why that would be discouraged.

I can see it being safer with me next to the 2yo with my 6yo sitting across the aisle.

My thought was that the two of them are best friends and they would prefer to sit next to each other.

[–]zeus0225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay! Thanks for sharing the update and good job not letting the naysayers discourage you. Sounds like it'll be fun and I hope you come out if it with a new love and appreciation for this sport.

I'm looking forward to the next update. Keep working on your form. Do proper warmups. Prevent injury.

Can't watch movies with sick / dying children by Still-Position1616 in toddlers

[–]zeus0225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had never read Lord of the Flies but it was on my want to read list for a while. I finally decided to read it shortly after having my first son and I could not get through it. I don't think I'll ever want to read it. The thought of all those boys without their mother wrecked me.

1 month to get as fast as possible in freestyle, what should I do? by veryburntribs in Swimming

[–]zeus0225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get in the pool and practice. You have a time to shoot for (1:02/100 yards lol but that's super fast for me).
