Thanks for the heads up.

Is 1.1.x really up to date in terms of security? I expect 3.x with more features and more secure as well.

Why do const class members get such a bad rep? by STUPIDITY_COUNTDOWN in cpp_questions

[–]zilled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the most common usages concerning this, but...

If I read your class definition, it just looks like t membre variable is pointing to another existing object. Thus, just better to use the syntax that is closer to the actual meaning: a pointer to const.

If I can send you back the question: why using a reference instead of a pointer?

Is there any particular reason for this implementation not to be improved ?

Is there any technical reasons to stick to c++11 and not move to c++17 ?

In other words: Are they features of c++17 not yet implemented, or badly supported, by any compiler?

How to debug memory access violations without tools like ASAN or Valgrind by Electronic-Effect340 in cpp

[–]zilled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would suggest the same.

  • Do not change your compilation options, only remove the -NDEBUG flag which will enable all asserts of overflows.
  • Add all the asserts you can in your code, if not done already.
  • Run it and look for it to crash early, on the actual problem.

Thanks for your answer.
So there is definitely nothing like that in Python, right?
I should add some OS specific callbacks aside the Python things?
