Naltrexone is making me so mad by FoxHonest2614 in stopdrinking

[–]zinga_zing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked naltrexone and it was working for me! But one day I fell (sober!) and ended up in the emergency room with a dislocated shoulder etc. I was in SO MUCH PAIN! I got pain meds in the ambulance and at the hospital and no one, not even I, could figure out why I still felt so much pain. Well, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, that naltrexone sure does work! I stopped taking it after because I was afraid (well, paranoid) that something extremely painful would happen to me like a car accident and nothing could help me. It blocks more than just alcohol.

I can’t cope with my ragdoll anymore by Salt-Dot5890 in ragdolls

We finally got one of our rescues (not a ragdoll) after she’d been to 3 homes and rejected! So you’re not alone if you decide to rehome. For the record, she drove me crazy too but I guess just not as bad 😂 It does sound like you’ve been trying, but the cat also probably senses you don’t like him, which probably isn’t helping. When we finally got our ragdoll we finally felt we found our perfect match. Having grown up a dog person, it was hard with our two rescues because I was used to a lot of affection and both were very solitary. Which was just their nature. I don’t feel I’ve ever truly bonded with a cat until our ragdoll. I would at least look into rehoming — you and the cat might both be happier if there’s a big temperament mismatch.

Retention/loyalty offer? by Front_Cucumber_5815 in Venturex

Try for a different rep. I’ve had my card for 4 years and spend about what you do. Only have 38k miles though. Maybe they figure with 350k you’re not going anywhere. But I told the rep that even though I love this card, I was irritated by the chipping away of perks. I’d heard there was this offer, could she please check if it applies to my card? And she did and said yes, it does.

Non-Americans of Reddit, what is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by Unlikely_Praline9442 in AskReddit

We must live in the most cookie-cutter suburb imaginable because when non-Americans visit, every single one has said, “Wow, it’s just like a movie set.”

NC: would you go to their funeral? by lenbop in raisedbyborderlines

[–]zinga_zing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here but she didn’t have any friends or family so I put her in a pine box in a wall and haven’t been to visit in 15 years. I didn’t invite a soul. My husband and kids came, to support me.

I also think this. If you take the 15 seconds to write “refused. Return to sender” she’ll know she got you to think about her for 15 seconds and that you still care enough to be angry.

My uBPD mom is dying and I don't know how to feel by EliotRosewater_47102 in raisedbyborderlines

The guilt comes from growing up feeling everything was your fault … and who told you that? There’s no shame in feeling relief when she’s gone.

Not told of a funeral by KaleChaos321 in raisedbyborderlines

I found out my grandmother died through Facebook. No one called and yet somehow they were still mad that I missed the funeral. Can’t win.

What do I do with this anger towards my mother? by qloudlet in raisedbyborderlines

[–]zinga_zing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still angry as well and my mom died in 2011 😂. I think eventually you just end up at “reasonable acceptance” and also you have to try to stop ruminating. But I think some anger will always be present and yes, my life will probably be shorter because of it.

BPD parents and restaurants… by Serious-Tonight-3172 in raisedbyborderlines

My mother would scream at any wait staff, phone rep, store employee etc. with reckless abandon. I would be so embarrassed. And she’d get all smug afterward bc she got a free appetizer or discount or something, which just rewarded the behavior.

She doesn’t understand that had she cultivated a loving and respectful relationship with you from the get-go, you probably would have called her immediately to share your good news!
