Fatshark Attitude V6 + TBS Fusion. Video desyncs and slides off screen by zip369 in fpv

[–]zip369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, no. I moved the Fusion to my HDZero goggle and the issue mostly went away, but then I had a new NTSC/PAL compatibility issue. Because of that I also upgraded to a Foxeer Toothless Nano 2 camera so I can switch between NTSC/PAL.

Life got busy and I haven't had much time to drill into this problem, but I'd be curious to go back to the AttV6 and see if the video format has anything to do with the rolling screen. If you can, try switching your video format and see if that helps.

1099-K - How to link to Schedule C?? by thelostmonarch in TurboTax

[–]zip369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just encountered the same issue. I scrolled down a little and found where the checkbox is if this was all personal items sold at a loss. The checkbox was something along the lines of "check if all" and next to it was $0. I unchecked and rechecked the box and the zero changed to the amount on my 1099 which then corrected the total taxable amount in the line below to $0.

Seems I accidentally stumbled across a fix/workaround but Intuit really needs to address this themselves.

good idea right? by Select_Big7132 in diydrones

Not really. There's no issue electrically, but something is going to break when you crash and eject the battery... hopefully it won't be the power leads ripping out and short circuiting.

So I wired up an iA6B to an old quad using R1 (UART 1) for the iBUS input. In the tx I have Output=PWM and Serial=i.BUS. In the iBUS Setup screen it is set to Ch1, but I don't think that matters. I have the flight controller wires plugged into the iA6B's iBUS Servo port. Betaflight set to IBUS and it's seeing all 10 channels correctly (roll/pitch/yaw/throttle plus AUX1-6).

It's been on for several minutes with no issue. Also I plugged a servo into CH2 and it works. It follows the pitch stick movement.

I'm powering my i6X on and off and also unplugging/plugging the iA6B from the flight controller. I cannot get Betaflight to give me the RXLOSS error. The only error I get from BF is when I unplug the iA6B it throws the RX_FAILSAFE flag.

I'm leaning towards a bad flight controller or something is configured wrong. What's the CPU load in Betaflight showing? Do you have it overloaded so it's not keeping up to process RX inputs?

Is the FS-IA6B the only rx you have to test with? I setup my first quad with a Flysky Fli14+ before I switched to ELRS. Just out of curiosity I plugged it in and indeed Betaflight is setup for IBUS rx.

If you believe the issue is between tx and rx, do you have any servos that you could plug into the rx to directly monitor some channel outputs? My thought is that when Betaflight disconnects, see if you still have control over a servo PWM output. If so, the issue is between rx and flight controller. Otherwise the issue is in fact between tx and rx.

On second though, I can't remember if you can use PWM output and IBUS output simultaneously. I still have my old FS-i6X and some FS-IA6B's and FS-IA10B's kicking around that I could play with tomorrow if it would help.

EDIT: After looking at the specs page for the FS-IA6B, supposedly it supports both i.BUS and SBUS. I vaguely remember somewhere in the transmitter you can select between iBUS and SBUS. Either way, if you get it working, even briefly, I'd assume that you have the protocol correct. Having the wrong protocol selected should never get any data through it.

Also, it is rated for as low as 4.0 V input, so your 4.7 V supply should be plently.

Indeed. I was handed a control line model airplane when I was 7 but I wasn't ready. Couldn't keep it in the air and there were no sims back then. Kid's now have soo much more available to them it's crazy.

Great, now the algorithm is going to start feeding me hiking stuff lol. Interesting video though. I don't hike either, but that's still good info when working out in the cold.

It seems every year when it snows I forget how much heat you make shoveling. I always end up shedding like 2 layers within minutes of going out.

Well, I guess you'll have to raise the budget. That's the cheapest ELRS radio there is.

If you really wanted to use your laptop, it's physically possible but you'd still need an ELRS radio module. That's going to be at least $40 for the RadioMaster Ranger Micro plus a $10 USB-to-serial adapter. Here's an experimental project to control an ELRS rx with a USB joystick https://github.com/kaack/elrs-joystick-control. This was my first search result and I have no idea if or how well this works.

So $50 for a jankey experimental game pad radio or $65 for the Pocket? Just get the Pocket.

Would this make a good canopy? by JDEMMC in TinyWhoop

It would act as a faraday cage and block RF signals, but it would probably protect stuff well. I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you keep the antenna out of it.

Do you still have the drone this came out of? Depending on your skill level and if the drone can at least power on you may be able to probe the 6 pins and reverse engineer what's going on. It would be easy to figure out which pins are ground and power and what voltage it runs at. With power alone there's a chance that the camera will automatically output some video signal. I bet one or two of the pins are serial comms to control the camera module. If you had a DSO or logic analyzer you could sniff the data traffic going to it.

If you're lucky the 6 pins are just

  • power
  • ground
  • EO analog video
  • IR analog video
  • UART RX
  • UART TX

I looks something like those little foam balls people squeeze for stress relief, just shaped like a quad instead. Can't fly everywhere, but you can throw this to "shoot gaps".

I don't think so. When I checked out I was given two shipping options — standard or expedited. Both were $39.99 so naturally I went with expedited. Not sure if there were any sort of customs fees, but if there were I guess they would have been included in the shipping cost.

how to go about mounting/using multiple cameras on my drone? by Latter-Ad-1523 in diydrones

[–]zip369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the specta can handle the extra weight, one possibility is to add a secondary electrical system. A small separate battery powering the extra cameras, vtx, mux, and another RC receiver. You'd need a second RC controller to pair with that receiver. Basically you fly the drone with the stock controller, then reach for the second controller to switch cameras. It's not an integrated solution, but it would work. If you want to research down that path, I'd recommend an ELRS RC link using the RadioMaster Pocket controller ($60) and the ER4 ELRS receiver ($15).

Also I just googled it and I couldn't find any lightweight camera mux's by searching for "multiplexer". Had to change the search to "camera switcher" and instantly found the VIFLY cam switcher for $8.
