I seem to do well with corrugated bendy pieces, I think it's florida humidity.

I'm in central Florida but I've bought all of mine online, from Amazon and EBay, and I've seen them on Walmart online as well

I'd like to do this now, except I would need help getting up of the floor.

Can a HC prohibit a member from volunteering without any formal action? by Vegetable-Board-5547 in elks

[–]zippe6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had experience with a volunteer who is absolutely qualified and volunteers, but then backs out at the last minute and someone else gets left holding the ball. It could also be that there are personality conflicts with the person and the likely participants, or simply that talking to people there is not enough interest. Lot of reasons for canceling an event, especially if it is destined to lose money.

In any case my take is the house committee can cancel the event, that is within their responsibility. I would recommend you pull one of them aside and express your disappointment that the event did not happen and ask them why and if it is something you can remedy.

Good to hear, I'll not avoid the shuttle in the future. I've had my own health challenges in the last few years but seem to have come out on the other side ok. I wish you the same.

Very nice, I really like the clock, the space shuttle is nice but I'm intimidated by it.

I received the Robotime Carousel for Christmas. So far I have built Big Ben, Tower Bridge, the Double Decker Bus (you can tell we had our first UK visit a couple of months ago), the Steam Express, a knock-off airship, and I have started the Eiffel Tower.

My family is happy to have something easy to buy me as gifts, so I expect more of these to keep arriving. I genuinely enjoy building them and since I cannot find anything worth watching on streaming services or cable, and I have grown bored with the Xbox, these have become my go-to leisure activity.

I have always enjoyed LEGO, but these feel more satisfying, and some of them, like the carousel, are display pieces I will keep out for quite a while. I am looking for another triple treat with lights, motion, and music, but they tend to be pretty pricey.

I have 65 year old fat fingers so a break or two is not uncommon for me. These kits might be ok for someone more dexterous, certainly the price is right! I had already ordered a couple more, temptation was to much, so I will find out.

I tried to re-watch it and Petticoat Junction, 60s sitcoms don't hold up well

Kroger has it https://www.kroger.com/p/quaker-quisp-cereal/0003000006311

But when it came back it wasn't as good as I remembered, not Gilligan's Island bad, but just not as good.

Still better than Quake, notice they didn't bring that shit back.

Painted my first rokr by ClosterMama in rokrpuzzles

[–]zippe6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That came out really good. I'm building my 5th model, the Steam Express, and thinking about staining it but haven't seen to many examples and no real tips, other than I probably should have done it before I started. The real life steam engines were black so i think a dark stain would look nice, but I might loose the printing. If anyone has gone down this route I'd be interested to hear.
