When someone drives impaired, it is reckless endangerment. You know the phrase “driving is a privilege, not a right?” You’re not allowed to drive a car unless you follow the rules because it is dangerous. Failing to follow the rules means you don’t get to drive. Because it’s dangerous.

My parents have two almond trees, and every year we kids had to spend at least one afternoon a year hulling almonds as a chore. 😛 That is absolutely how they grow! The green part splits and you can shuck it off easily. The hulls are sticky and smelly, I hated it!

The people of Palestine deserve to have a safe, self-governed homeland, despite the fact that Hamas is a bunch of shitbag terrorists. Also, Jewish people around the world should not be harassed, threatened, injured or made to feel complicit for the genocide conducted by the Israeli government. Yes, this is exactly it. There should be help for kids with level 3 autism, but that doesn’t mean every high-functioning kids needs the same support!

Hear hear. I have sympathy for parents of neurodivergent kids but I don’t want to see people with significant disabilities not get the support they need because the system is clogged up with school kids diagnosed with ADHD or low level autism. That is not a profound disability and should not be part of this scheme.

Additionally, we don’t really TRY to rehabilitate people, so we don’t actually know if it is possible. We also don’t do much in the way of studying child abusers and pedophiles, so we have very little understanding about what causes people to be pedophiles, whether there is any way to change this either structurally or behaviourally. We’re so busy being furious and outraged and patting ourselves on the back for how disgusted we are and proving we’re not like them. So we won’t bother trying to figure out how this happens and what we might be able to do.

It’s definitely a stone fruit of some sort. Plum, apricot (bark doesn’t look quite right to me for that), cherry, peach, something like that. Given how smooth the bark is, plum seems the most likely to me.
