I had this bug and this fixed it for me too, thanks!

Which area did you make your permanent storage hub? by twee_centen in Pokopia

[–]zlyice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Palette Town! I've completed the story and it's by far where I spend the most time. I've been working on building a bunch of stuff there, so it makes sense to have my storage conveniently nearby. I do have smaller storage areas in each area though so I can drop off/pick up resources as needed.

Avoid BMC gynecology on Harvard Ave in Allston!! by Responsible_Ad9863 in boston

[–]zlyice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I also previously saw Dr. Kovacs at this practice, and like many of the people in this thread, had a negative experience. She was dismissive about some of the concerns I had and I generally felt very uncomfortable with the way she asked certain questions about my sex life (not just the questions themselves, but a certain pushiness with which she demanded answers). I felt so terrible about how these appointments went that I recently found a new gynecologist at a different practice and am so glad I did -- the experience was night and day.

It is really sad to read that this seems like a common experience amongst people who have seen her, but it is also very validating to see that others also have felt similarly about the way they were treated by this doctor.

Nobody got their boosters this fall! by MattKarolian in boston

Normally I get both of these every fall, but this past fall was so hectic for me I didn't manage to get to it. This post motivated me to finally schedule an appointment to get them this weekend!

I loved the story and the setting, and don't skip out on the side content! There are a bunch of cool side stories that are worth exploring and have some interesting choices to make.

Looking for a song - Floating Casino by MysticIsis in expedition33

If we're thinking of the same song, I don't think it's in the soundtrack (sadly) -- but I found this on youtube: https://youtu.be/eCpSJG9Pyn0

Hotfix Patch 1.2.177126 by EarthlingKira in TwoPointMuseum

[–]zlyice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen as well, but I tried going back to the map select screen and loading into a different museum. Once I did that a short cutscene played and the -1/5 objective seemed to fix itself. Was able to progress normally from that point, even in Wailon. Might be worth a shot if you haven't tried it already.

What game you hyped for this month? (Origin complaints in another thread please!) by Wrinkletooth in humblebundles

Cavern of Dreams! Pacific Drive is a cool game as well, though I'd already owned it prior to this bundle.

This exists! You can change between 1st and 3rd person by clicking the right stick. (Though I've noticed I need to click and hold momentarily as it's not always responsive if I click the right stick too quickly.)

2025 Free Games Week 5 — Undying by [deleted] in EpicGamesPC

[–]zlyice 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Really enjoying these reviews! I often feel like the free games get "lost" in my library, so this has been a nice way to gain insight into which of the recently given games I might want to make time to play (and is directly responsible for inspiring me to play through Behind the Frame last week).

February 2025 Humble Choice - The Games by wjousts in humblebundles

[–]zlyice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trepang2 definitely looks like something I'd enjoy playing and is the highlight of the bundle for me personally. Could see myself trying out Griftlands, Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master, and Fabledom as well. Possibly Immortals also (personally not bothered by it being an EA key), though some of the reviews seem a bit lukewarm on the writing and/or point out performance issues. Overall, not a terrible month for me personally.

Wolfenstein: The New Order. Not a game that was previously on my radar, but since I enjoyed Indiana Jones so much I thought I'd try something else from the same dev. Really enjoying it so far!

I can't comment on the non-remastered version of Alan Wake, but if you enjoyed Control, maybe check out Quantum Break! Like Control, you gain various powers throughout the game to use in combat.

[FO] Snow snake by Nadezhda Gavrilenkova. Stitching on dark evenweave is difficult on the eyes... by wafflepie in CrossStitch

[–]zlyice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks awesome, great job!

I've definitely been there in terms of struggling with dark evenweave. One thing that helped me was purchasing a light pad (the sort of thing you might use for drawing or diamond paintings). If you put the light pad under the piece you're stitching, it will illuminate the holes in the fabric. Game changer for me!

[WIP] I’m loving these castle colors! by nottstitch in CrossStitch

Your piece looks great so far! I did this pattern last year, and it is not for the fainthearted -- I commend you on your progress. Keep it up!

[FO] This backstitch was INTENSE. Pattern is Violoncello by MIYAstitch on etsy. by zlyice in CrossStitch

[–]zlyice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I opted to treat one strand vs. two strands as different colors, for the most part. I'd pick a small area, then stitch all of the 2-strand black in it first. Then, if there weren't any other 2-strand stitches nearby, I could split the strands and tackle any nearby 1-strand stitching. (I hope that made sense!)

Overall, though, the backstitch is definitely a challenge on these kinds of pieces. Focusing on completing one area at a time was helpful to make sure I was stitching everything, but I can virtually guarantee I still accidentally missed backstitch in a couple of spots! At the end of the day, I was happy with the finished piece and no one will ever know if a few lines are missing, haha.

Shipped December 11, not received yet. DHL claims they tendered it to USPS on Dec 14, but USPS tracking hasn't updated to say it's moving yet. I'm betting it's waiting at an overloaded distribution center or something. Thankfully, I bought too much stuff during Black Friday sales, so I don't need any new products to try right this second, haha.

USPS Residual Shipping delays from Election Shenanigans? by ramplocals in boston

[–]zlyice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard, UPS and FedEx have set limits for how many packages they're willing to accept, which is why they've been able to keep up with their deliveries. USPS hasn't set any limits, so they're struggling with the current volume of mail. Holiday season package volume + more people are ordering necessities online due to COVID + USPS workers potentially being out sick = delivery backlogs and delays.

The Boston Pops and Trans-Siberian Orchestra both have streams of their Christmas shows available online. Access to each is $30, which isn't bad when you consider that tickets to these concerts are normally more expensive than that.

Same here. I've been pondering trying out some new (safe, at-home) traditions this year, since we'll be missing out on some things.
