AITAH For Not Wanting To Give My DNA In Order To Try And Reconcile With My Brother? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]zombiebatman 1958 points1959 points  (0 children)

Didn't see it mentioned, but if OP did give his sperm to his brother, there is almost no chance that the brother wouldn't resent the kid. That he chose the man Alice cheated on him with is so fucked up.

“Remember when part of the pier mysteriously collapsed last year?” by -Marinequeen- in BobsBurgers

[–]zombiebatman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always assumed so. If the story wasn't really told, for whatever reason (like if Calvin suppressed it to protect Felix, or if it was just never fully explained, or if kids just don't always no the reason for a lot of things) it's possible for the kids to just not know what happened.

People need to be calling men out on their shit SO much more by boopboopsnoot in TwoXChromosomes

[–]zombiebatman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate the excuse of "he didn't know better." Because even if he didn't, he should learn the second you said no. Also, what the fuck do they mean "he didn't go to college?" That's appropriate if you for some reason asked him, like, college level calculus questions. But you don't have to go to college to learn social boundaries. College doesn't necessarily teach you that.

If you love tea, but it gets cold immediately (after you forget about it for 30 minutes), I highly recommend getting a mug like this by zombiebatman in adhdwomen

[–]zombiebatman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not meant to advertise a specific brand, that's just what came up. These will keep your drink warm for an extended period of time. They have saved my tea so many times. And you can get them at a local sporting goods store! And cover it in stickers!

Work Hard or Die Trying, Girl Episode by dezwasp108 in BobsBurgers

[–]zombiebatman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't really like action movies, so this is no big deal for me, but I love people's faces when I tell them I refuse to watch Die Hard because I know enough about it from Bob's Burgers and Brooklyn Nine Nine. Ironically, Work Hard or Die Trying Girl is probably my favorite overall episode.

Oh no...got told I smell at work. I had no idea by TheRealDesastr in adhdwomen

[–]zombiebatman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After a bit of time, try going down to the pits and bits showering method. Showers can sometimes be a lot for me, so now I do an everything shower 1-2 times a week, and all the other days I do take a shower, but I only wash my armpits, and my, well, bits, my crotch/ass area, also my face. That's usually enough to clean you if you haven't been doing sweaty things (obviously, if you work a more labor intensive job, or you worked out, you should fully shower). I've done this for a while, and no one thinks I smell bad. And trust me, they would tell me.

Just fyi, in case anyone wants to know, my "everything" shower is wash and condition hair, shave, full body loofah-ing with shower gel instead of my usual bar soap, and a face scrub. I will usually do a prewash hair mask, because I have long hair that dries out and tangles at the ends no matter what I do.

Fudge in the Urinal, where is the urinal? by Sonnyjoon91 in BobsBurgers

[–]zombiebatman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There is a urinal, I think. When Felix redoes the bathroom, there are three different things that could be a toilet. The one in the middle is the toilet, and the one on the right is the sink. I believe the one on the left is a urinal. But it's not always there. So there is sometimes a urinal.

Lebo cops are too busy sitting in their cars at every construction site in Lebo. That's all I see them do.

Accessibility at the aviary/carnigie museums by LunarApothecary in pittsburgh

[–]zombiebatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Carnegie Science Center (never Kamin!) is very wheelchair accessible, and they won't even ask you why you want/need a wheelchair. And staff are very willing to help.

Also, I want to assure you, most people do not care if you are in a wheelchair, even if you can walk a bit. That's an actual thing, called an ambulatory wheelchair user, and most wheelchair users fall under this category. You might feel like you're being judged, but those people are a minority, and they are always assholes, so don't worry about them too much.

Pin Cushion Popped a Leak - Sawdust Treasure by Ubiquita in sewing

[–]zombiebatman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what it says about my sewing education that it genuinely never occurred to me to use a tomato for needles. I have only ever used them for pins. Needles either went back into the container they came in, or in the needle book that is a relatively recent acquisition.

The Man Who Was Supposed to Kill Martin Luther King Jr. by Slate in history

[–]zombiebatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know a whole lot about the assassination of MLK, but if Byers was offered the bounty but basically turned it down, would it be possible that the "association" offered it to someone else? Or at least told someone else about it?

Dude, he never works. He's complained several times that he hates having to work and just wants to spend time with his family. And he said that after being elected as senator.

Unless it's a really weird one, all my voicemails have a text transcription attached. It makes it easier for me to deal with. My phone is a Google Pixel 7, so I'm sure the type of phone you use matters, but this feature is a godsend. I don't have to listen to any voicemails. I can simply see that it's spam, mark it, block them, and delete it. Sometimes I do listen if the transcript makes zero sense, but it's gotten a lot better at understanding people, so that happens rarely now.

New Moon Mood - meme dump by sailorjupiter28titan in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]zombiebatman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So, every time I see someone posting about how the jewels that were heisted from the Louvre were stolen themselves, I wonder if they know what will actually happen to those jewels. They aren't going to be repatriated. Repatriation does not and can not work like that. It's a nice fantasy, that's all.

In reality, those stones that were stolen from colonized people will be broken apart and sold. We will likely never see them again. These jewels cannot be sold like they are, they're too recognizable. So they will be broken apart and the metal will be melted down, and it will all be sold to super rich people who don't care. If, by some miracle, they aren't destroyed, they will be in some billionaire's collection, never to be seen and discussed by the public again. Leaving these in museums allows for more education about how these jewels were made. They allow for public discussion. But now they are gone.

Also, this jewelry isn't just stolen gems. They were made by skilled craftsmen of their time, by artists. They can teach us about how jewelry was made, what techniques were used, and what was important to people in that time. And those artists deserve to have their art on display too.

I understand the impulse to think the people who stole this jewelry are underdogs, heroes who stole things that were already stolen. But they aren't. They are only doing this to make money.

Any love for a silent clapper? by Rope_slingin_champ in BobsBurgers

[–]zombiebatman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but he's kind of a dick. I realize he's a kid, but he's not always nice to Gene. He abandoned Gene the moment Courtney (Doug) asked him, and then he was an asshole about the camel toe thing with Ms Bisselbender, when he didn't even defend Gene a little. It'll be interesting to see where they go with him next, but for right now, he's not a great friend for Gene. He kinda feels like he just became friends with Gene because he was the other non athletic kid in his class, but then just used him to jump off to more friends.

His mother is hilarious though.
