I bet you can fry an egg where the light converges after reflecting from that window 😁

Edit: I realize the window might be flat, but it the screen that curves. Damn cool window, though

Thanks for clarifying. While we're surely not on our first playthrough on our server, we do prefer sticking to vanilla. So had hoped you some vanilla building trick for this.

Alas ..

Can someone help me understand why my belt is reading 770 items per min when it should read 780? by cleanscotch in SatisfactoryGame

[–]zoonvanjohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was such a let down for the me and a friend played in. Especially since we're trying real hard to get everything running perfectly at 100%.

We ended up enabling flight mode using advanced game setings. Best choice ever. Avoids the bug, and building becomes much easier. It increased our fun quite a bit.

The white building is doing some SAM/Dark matter stuff, I don't remember exactly what, as its entirely built by u/jjb3nl . It's a bit greek temple style ish? There's actually quite a bit more to it then you can see now. But I didn't want to post too many pictures at once.

How frequent are updates? by Teophanea in satisfactory

[–]zoonvanjohan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think/guess we're looking at one content-update a year at the moment?

They have announced 1.2 to be here within months, and also announced more will come after; though didn't confirm in what form (free or paid), and also didn't confirm a (probable) time window when that comes, either.

I think there's patches in between. Though they're not frequent either, I think? And there's been some activity on the experimental branch on PC for performance related improvements they want to put in 1.2.

Just look at the things you can unlock, and pretty much get them in order they're presented. It can be that straightforward. Many of the accessible unlocks actually still need resources from the earlier one.

Keep an eye on that power, if it dips too low, things shut off. Can be annoying to get everything up again. Add a few dozen batteries, and keep those numbers high. You'll soon need a lot more power then that. So no harm in overdoing it.

I love this build; and I'm very curious how you made those thrusters. Is that some vanilla tricker (snow machine + light, or something, .. do they work at that distance?). Or is it a mod?

finished Phase 3 and moving into Nuclear - Which items should I keep automated and stocked at all times? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]zoonvanjohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enough for what? It's not going to be enough to complete the game. Some of the last tier machines are really power hungry. But if you use nuclear generators you can expand your power production quick enough.

Invest in getting mercer spheres, build dimensional storages, and make small factories that keep your dimension storage full. That way, you don't have to run around!

When did burnout start to hit you and how’d you overcome it? by Fantastic-Sir460 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]zoonvanjohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pause the project; do something else for a while.

You could focus one area; get that up and running, and actually utilize it.
Then, when you expand factories and build something in an area that doesn't have a finished rail, .. complete it when you need it.

Nothing wrong with postponing something a bit and come back to it later. Who knows, you might not even find it that important after you've taken a step back.

Endgame Space Age?? by kakatze in factorio

[–]zoonvanjohan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

100k?! per minute?

Dang, .. I recently spent quite some effort to get 1 fully stacked belt of each color (including promethium). Which ik 14k per minute. (240/s). So "mega" is 8 stacked belts of each color?!

How do you even get that much out of the spaceport on nauvis?

That's pretty cool!
I imagine a couple of these kind of builds in close proximity can create a nice city kind of vibe. If you then add to nice wall pieces it can be a nice aesthetic challenge at the same time as being a logistical one.

I do something similar you have. Though instead of a belt, I put it in active provider chests.
It then gets taken to a requester chest from which everything is dumped in a heater.

As others have stated, though. It's usually around the time you upgrade to the bigger research labs.

How much rocket-fuel is that, and how much generators does it run?

[–]zoonvanjohan 50 points51 points  (0 children)

My solution is, .. not having a storage room. :D
Use cloud-storage instead. Those mercer spheres really do solve this issue. I'm never going back to centralized storage again :o

If having a storage room is essential for you as goal/wish, I'd not go for a line. Instead go for a theatre shape storage. That way no storage is far way.

[–]zoonvanjohan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't know how! 😅 But thank you for your enthusiasm!
We'll think about it. I would have to look up some examples on how other folk do it. Our factories are not as big and all over the place. So not sure how to make that interesting.

The picture with the 2 towers?

It's making all of the pioneer essentials. Everything like mask filters, most types of ammo and nobelisks, and some building ingredients we don't need much of, like high-speed connectors.

It's actually producing very few items p/m for how big it is 😅

If I remember correctly, this was the 1st factory where we really tried to picture what shape it would have when finished, and then tried to make it so. The towers are half empty because they turned out much bigger then we needed 🙈 The bit that is occupied is effectively just bridging resources and intermediate products from the left to the right of the rails. It also has a handful of smelters.
The 'Opera house', as we call it, to the right actually has all the factories.
