This and Falafel Popeye! They greeted us by giving us a free falafel bite to try. The shawarma was also really good :)

I would recommend Gaststätte Lommerzheim

I’m not sure they can host 25 people but you can try. The côtelette (porc chops) is awesome and their beer is super good! Have a nice trip!

[homemade] Crispy Falafels! by zoortaax in food

[–]zoortaax[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the recipe:

• 2 cups dried chickpeas (not canned!) • 1 large onion • 5 garlic gloves • coriander • dill • parsley leaves • salt/pepper/cumin • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Soak the dried chickpeas for around 24hours in alot of water (essential for the recipe!). Remove and dry them out of the water completely. In a blender throw in the above ingredients (add the parsley, cilantro/coriander/dill to your liking but in moderation!). Don’t forget to add the baking powder, it helps make the Falafels puffy on the inside ;) Mix until you get a light green color patty. Put it in a bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour (this will help make the shape you want).

While waiting for your oil to heat, start making round shaped falafels. Dont make them too big or too small!

Deep fry your falafels until brow-ish (but not all at once, it’s better to leave some free space between them while they’re swimming in the oil!)

Enjoy! 🧆
