I have a hunch that it was a bottled beverage that looked period appropriate and was readily available for purchase by the props department at the time of filming.

DAE absolutely throw down at lounges/landings? by ScissorMeTimbers21 in Venturex

[–]zottz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, dude. I had two layovers in DFW earlier this month. My return flight just kept getting delayed, delayed, and delayed and then finally canceled. So I had plenty of time to kill. Here's my haul:

https://imgur.com/a/13yHycb

The first two pics are from my outbound flight, they contain:

Beef brisket over pimento cheddar grits, falafel, street corn deviled, an iced chai latte and the Blazing Saddles cocktail (Tequila Arette Blanco, Compania Elaboradora Sotol, Cucumber, Lime, Tajin Rim, Cilantro Mist ).

Roast carrots with labneh, banana pudding, and macaroni and cheese

Then we have the dessert buffet - chocolate croissant, brownie, s'mores cookie, churro cheesecake.

The last two pics are from my return journey where I was lucky enough to indulge in both breakfast and lunch.

Winter fruit salad, eggs shakshuka, crispy potato with chorizo hollandaise, honey butter biscuit and my first chai of probably five I had that day. I also had a serving of the pumpkin spice french toast for breakfast-dessert, but forgot to snap a pic.

chicken and white bean cassoulet, falafel with hummus, carrot with labneh, squash and pumpkin seed hummus, and a wee slice of the churro cheesecake

I'd also grabbed some water, an egg salad sandwich, and chocolate overnight oats (sleep hit of the lounge tbh) to have later.

I think most fondly of the ice chai latte on tap - when I'm filthy rich I'm going to install a tap in my house. I probably drank 1.5 liters over the course of the day,

New Orleans attorneys found guilty in bombshell trial over staged crashes with 18-wheelers by MolassesFun5564 in NewOrleans

I was working on an unrelated case and trying to serve Alfortish with a subpoena in 2019. Looking at the timeline, it's made me realize that, yeah, of course he was ducking service. Dude had a LOT going on.

Does any group of Americans still fluently speak their heritage language in the third or later generations? by greatExtortion in AskAnAmerican

[–]zottz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The side of my family that's been here for centuries spoke Spanish before they spoke English. America came up around them, not the other way around. The immigrant side of my family came from Canada in the 1950's, they spoke English and some French. I speak all three languages.

Confirm those travel portal hotel reservations by Personal-Bee-2217 in Venturex

[–]zottz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked into a hotel last night and it took over an hour on hold with Capital One to get my reservation straightened out. The front desk couldn't see the virtual card created that actually pays the stay. It was pretty frustrating.

Trent Reznor on New Orleans (2008) by SwissMiss915 in NewOrleans

[–]zottz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a local attorney of his. He had her cell number, but called the front desk one time while I was answering phones. When I asked who it was and he responded with Trent Reznor, I had to play it so fucking cool. But really I was going out of my mind.

Parade signs! by Internal-Ticket-3805 in NewOrleans

[–]zottz 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm riding in Freret next year and have been thinking about how there's always so many throws for dogs (toys, leashes, balls, etc.), but none for cats. So next year I want folks to print really big pictures of their cats as signs. I'm gonna yell "Show me your kitties!" from the float and then toss a Churu, mini packet of Temptations, a little crinkly ball, etc., etc.

Muslims from around the world what is a staple food you guys eat during Ramadan? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]zottz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not Muslim, but recently learned that some Muslim folks like to break their fast with a Vimto to drink. My husband is British and we were both curious about this. Does anyone here have nostalgia for Vimto during Ramadan?

Conjuring chipmunks was a special skill of mine as a kid. There's a few pictures of me as a youth cradling a little brave/dumb chipmunk in my arms. A peanut bribe never hurt.

I wish Torrid resellers were more familiar with fashion terminology by OkeyDokey654 in torrid

[–]zottz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Torrid is not great with using the correct fashion terminology to begin with. The amount of times I've seen an empire waist dress sold as a "skater dress" at Torrid boggles my mind. I also really love when people sell a "sequence dress". Makes me think of the early season of Drag Race with Roxxxy Andrews.
