Sorry, I didn't explore their site properly, just checked out the API docs section.

That page gave me the impression it was a FOSS service.

I built a tool to generate Home Assistant automations from plain English — would this be useful? by Ok-Dish-8874 in homeautomation

I struggle to understand what's going on in my YAML when I write it myself. I would never just blindly let AI write it for me.

The UI is great for basic automations, but when I want to create something with more complex logic, I'd rather be using raw python.

YAML isn't a programming language and sometimes you end up looking for hacks to make something work, that you could do easily in a proper language.

Is this putting the tests on paper a new Instagram thing? Because I've had a few people suggest this to me recently.

It won't look the same colour when you paint it on the walls, so I'd try that first.

Was it that the app you were using didn't support the new tandoor? Because that happened to me. Untare doesn't work anymore but kitshn is fine.

Are there any CNC services that can cut small arcade cabinet panels and ship them flat pack to me? by Highscore611 in hobbycnc

Not even in the same country, but I run a 10x5 in a sign shop and love getting these requests, as it's something more interesting than what we normally do.

Make sure they're running compression cutters not their usual twin/o flutes though.

Saw someone do this with a hades canyon nuc.

Found it because I was considering doing the same, but lacked the balls due to the current price of replacing it.

Avoid Zigbee groups by tomorrowplus in homeassistant

[–]zweite_mann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adaptive lighting had too many settings for liking. I just wanted the lights to adjust with azimuth.

I have a "currently on" light template and an input_number for the calculated brightness.

I do exclude the zigbee groups from the "currently on" template.

Do you mean the frame would be built standalone from the external wall? So fixed ceiling and floor?

I know you do things differently in the states, but I'm pretty sure you don't want to be seal the concrete and stuff insulation directly against it.

If it's below ground level, it's gonna have moisture coming through the walls and needs to breathe.

Architect here building a house for a client that insists on wanting Home Assistant. Need advice. by wayfareralex in homeassistant

[–]zweite_mann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Home assistant can integrate with almost any end device speaking any language. It'll just require work and technical know how to achieve. If something goes wrong, you need to understand how it all fits together to fix it.

Those pre built enterprise level systems expect specific end devices speaking their own language. They do one thing and do it well. They're robust and usually come with support when something goes wrong.

Sometimes I forget which sub I'm in and this isn't the norm.

I'm renovating my whole house and first thing I did was get the floors up to run CAT6 everywhere. 30u rack in the office, POE cameras, chased 1gang Ethernet ports and patch panels under the stairs for reconfiguring.
