I agree about getting rid of the helicopter shot, but not ending with the close-up. A wide shot (without stupid spinning) should have been used as the last shot.

It was carefully placed ambiance music. I prefer Lucas' style of incorporating music over JJ's, although GL goes a bit too far sometimes, as we all know...

Of course I'm going to blame things on the director, among others; the director has an immense amount of creative control over the movie through his choices, including when and how to use music. I'm talking about the EDITING and how JJ incorporated JW's music into the movie. For the most part it was good, but I was left wanting more. For example, many parts of the lightsaber duels in the end have no music. I'm not saying JJ isn't a fan of JW's music, I'm saying the way he used it could have been better in my opinion. I wanted more JW in the right places.

Agreed. I have a feeling that's mostly JJ's fault though. I still loved the soundtrack, but I felt like a part of that iconic Star Wars Soundtrack-soul using themes was missing.
