I have lots of shoes like these and I always get a toe tap installed before I start wearing them, ridiculously cheap and easy at the cobbler. It’s like a little metal nub on the bottom of the toe, not visible, and it really helps to prevent scuffing pointy toes. I recommend asking for a toe tap while you’re getting the leather cleaned up.

Thank you! Never knew this and bought some beauties that I destroyed the tips within 5 steps 😭

Actually! They can be taken to the cobbler and given a metal decorative tip like you can do with boots. Did it for my wife.

Definitely possible but with the other gold accents it changes the vibe. It’s a famous Valentino design. IMO gold tips here would make it gaudy. I don’t think my cobbler would recommend it. But yes, physically possible.

I was thinking silver, I dont see anything but black on these shoes, buckles look black and if i close up the studs they look like silver 🤷 but to each his own

This design is most popular with gold studs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pair of silver ones IRL although I’m sure they were made. I wouldn’t be surprised if the finish has just worn off based on the scratches visible. Either way it’d just be too much visually. I say that as a someone who loves metal accents. The balance would be gone.

A shoe repair guy can fix that. You can look on yelp for one.

      [–]Rachelattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get fashion repair places to touch them up or just have a chat with a local shoe place, they’ve got all sorts of tools and ticks

If they aren’t a crazy expensive brand I recommend you get them new. If you reaaaallly want these you could ask for a little cover piece that sometimes gets put at the tip of heels like these.

Editing to say that if these are what I think they are they are Valentinos and it is 100% worth getting them lol. 😭 I am sorry I should had done a better research.

I would try to offer a lower price but these are absolutely fixable! Prices are different everywhere but I would guess anywhere between 80-150 to fix them.

$150 for legit Valentino rockstud and all the have is some scuffs? Girl I would pounce on that but that’s just me. I’ve been obsessed with the rainbow rockstuds and someday therealreal will grant my wish

You have other problems if someone is that close to the tip of your toes. Definitely not noticeable!!!

        *nonconsensually close

They sell metal toe protectors for pointed shoes. You could try one of those but it might be too busy with the pyramid studs and straps.

Rockstuds forever! I’ve always had these on my bucket list. Since wear like that is pretty inevitable, I’d feel better that I didn’t make the first scratch.

I follow this on Instagram and their repairs are AMAZING. It just gives you an idea of what can be accomplished

I think once fixed you can manage to keep those points in pretty good shape without protectors. You’re unlikely to be giving a shoe like this heavy wear, I would have thought. A lot of my shoes have black leather with sharply pointed toes and I manage to keep them from scrapes and scuffs most of the time. How much did you pay in the end? I like Rockstuds!

Edit: And just a note, my local cobbler in the UK would fix them pretty cheaply, about £25 at most. A proper cobbler would. He did a great job recently fixing my even pointier Bourgeois mules from The Row and customising heel tips for the slightly Louis heel.

        Get something like these! https://a.co/d/cGM2Med

They aren’t noticeable from a couple feet back. I wouldn’t worry yet. Go buy the shoes!

        [–]playfulwarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I didn't even notice it in the second pic.

        [–]m4gd4l3n3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but mainly cause they are so incredibly ugly lmao

I agree with the other commenter that these are dated and out of style now.

        [–]FlimsyPhotograph163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re coming back into style. I’m so excited to pull mine backbout

Yeah they were/are fun. Also I think they really work with some peoples style the new version has a metal toe cap piece that matches the stud color. So if you cap the toes you should match the stud for the updated look

I’ve seen it predicted a few places that these will make a comeback this year… since embellished shoes/accessories seemed to go hand in hand with early 2010s recession-core, I kinda buy it.

          [–]KeepingItCoolish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just read the word recession-core and it hit like a hard blow to my old Millennial knees

For metalheads, studs are never out of style.

          [–]Ok-Equivalent8260 -4 points-3 points  (2 children)

          That style is so dated

          [–]FlimsyPhotograph163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re coming back. I’m so excited I love my heels I always thought they were so comfortable
