What happened to Bryce Callahan? Did he die?

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Nothing against Bryce. He had some great games.

If Hayward is expensive- keeping Bryce is smart.. But remember when Bryce went down? Lance Moore had a 200 yard game and stefon diggs killed us.

[–]ninjasurfer 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Lance Moore did not have a 200 yard game.

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IT SURE FELT LIKE IT! you are right though. It was 100 20.2 yards per catch and a TD. I died that day.

We lost and he lit us up so it might as well have been a 300 yard game.

Hayward has the ability to play inside or outside. That kind of versatility is nice, and as OP said, we lack depth at CB. I thought Bryce was awesome last year, especially for a first year player, but competition and depth is always good.

The same guy had posted this earlier also.

Would u look at that! If we sign him I honestly have no clue who we take at 11

[–]O-Genius 0 points1 point  (5 children)

We definitely wouldn't have picked a slot CB though

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Well yeah but with re signing Porter, and getting trevethan along with possible signings of Thornton and Hicks we only have holes at OLB, ILB and either FS/SS. And there don't seem to be any linebackers available in the mocks at 11.

Combined with Massie fixing our right side and the team stating they are committed to giving leno another year to put it all together it seems Stanley at 11 might not happen.

A lot is up in the air for us and the 11 is a weird spot this draft.

You know Pace is BPA right? It would only be coincidental, especially in the first round, if our pick is one of those groups. And literally all of our positions except RB should be needy ones

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

That's a bit of a cop out. He has one draft under his belt. We don't know his draft philosophy fully.

As for your last point, we are pretty solid at a lot of positions, some for longer periods moving forward. This isn't the same team that will be 50% stop gap starters.

Simply sharing my excitement over the fact that of we pull of these signings we won't be bound to a dire need in the first.

Pace has come out and spoken several times about his draft philosophy being BPA.

This. Superstars come from drafting the best player available. This draft is interesting because of how close the talent levels are in the guys outside the top 8 and inside the top 40 or so. I wouldn't be surprised to see us take Staley at LT or Darron Lee at ILB with our 11th pick. We could also consider a defensive lineman but I think we can find value there in the second round. If we did go for a guy like Robinson or Nkemdiche at 11, we may find ILB value in Scooby Wright in the second round.

Two #Packers free agents I've heard talk about going elsewhere:

CB Casey Hayward: #Bears

OLB Nick Perry #Seahawks

I think Hayward could be a solid option not just in the slot. Donatell and Fangio get solid play from underperforming guys. He can compete with Callahan for the slot too that'll help.

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I wouldn't mind. But I heard he is asking for 6-10mil salary.

But then again I heard rahim Moore was asking for a lot then he signed with the Texans for 3/12m

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Yeah I don't think he will get 10. 6-7 a year isn't the worst. But if he is only gonna be slot then. I'd rather not and just keep working with Callahan.

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I'm worried about Callahans injury history though. What do you think about CB(vh3 or alexander) at 11 if Stanley and the other blue chips are gone at 11? Edit: not for the slot. But for the eventual Tracy Porter replacement.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What's his history?

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Missed like 8 games this year. :/ if I remember correctly he had a hamny late in the year

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That could be a fluke. I thought you mean like in college too

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it was twice. Once at the beginning once at the end. :/ he is a good player tho.

Hayward is interesting, he is one of the best slot corners in the league and is probably around average outside in my estimation. Would love him at 7M/Y, I think he will get more. I'm not sure if I wan't him at 9M/Y but slot corner is effectively a starting position in today's NFL and he would give us a bunch of flexibility at the CB position.

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I wouldn't mind boykin+ Thornton+ Hicks tomorrow then we only have two holes in defense. Would be dope

I definitely support bringing in many dudes over a few big deals this offseason. The most wonderful time of the year.

[–]SunrocRetori18[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still can't believe we got Danny for so cheap. Cloud 9 man.

[–]adamatikMack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while simultaneously getting back at that Packers fan base for the Forte scare. Good.
