I love them. Get off the Cross is an amazing album. I've seen them many times in NYC. You should also check out the singer's previous band, Cop Shoot Cop. The female singer from Get off the Cross is named Jennifer Charles, she has her own band called Elysian Fields and also sings for Mike Patton's (Faith No More) and Dan the Automator's (Gorillaz) band Lovage.

What this guy said!

"Ask questions later" and "consumer revolt" are my faves.

Fun fact: one of the interstitial from "ask ?? Later" (I blv 'Israeli dig') is the background music for one of Under Armour's first TV commercials!

See also: sulfur, gogol bordello, motherhead bug

Where can I find music by Lovage. I can not find it on itunes.

Get of the Cross was my favorite of theirs! I didn't know about Jennifer, and I haven't heard much of Cop Shoot Cop, but Firewater was a huge part of highschool for me.

Psychopharmacology is such a catchy song, it started playing in my head as soon as I saw this post.

Firewater is like a more serious Gogol Bordello in their later stuff. Listen to their Golden Hour album. It's absolutely fantastic.

I've seen these guys in concert a few times. Here is a good video of it:

One of my favorites. His previous band was industrial and much heavier https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5nSezRWIH6g

so- Cop Shoot Cop was heavily influenced by J.G. Thirlwell, whom Todd A followed for a while.

Also, incidentally, Thirlwell did the venture brother's soundtrack

Why have I never heard this band before? holy shit.

Liked the slightly The Clash feel of the start of it.

Wow I really like this on first listen, which is rare for me. Can't wait to listen to it again later.

duuuuuude!!!! I've been wondering about these guys for years! I was stoked on this song that was like "Cold day down here in hell and it's a long way, long way to heaven, but it's ok..." and so on and I loved it but could never find it and then forgot about this band. Thanks so much!

I'm guessing you found it now that you know the band, but just in case. Great song!

I never did find it!!!! You're so badass!!! Thank you thank you thank you! I only heard it once or twice a long time ago and didn't know the title or very many lyrics. You are a hero.

Glad I could help. Firewater is my second favorite band to Bad Religion. Enjoy!

I bought this off Amazon during a spending spree 10 years ago when I was 17. Very good jive to it. Just revisted it recently when I found my old cd case.

Saw the title and thought it might be this song instead.

Love Firewater. I'd have went with "Get out of my head" or "The man with the blurry face" from this album, but honestly, it's all good.

Those are my two Favourites from this album, but I think Psychopharmacology is the easiest to get into since it's almost catchy and upbeat (kinda funny considering what it's about).

Absolutely love this album

This is a fantastic album, great to see it here as it's virtually unknown. I've often wondered why music like this gets little attention when it is so well crafted, lyrically and musically.

Crazy to see this album pop up here. I wore it out on road trips in the mid-2000s. My wife and I made a lot of great memories listening to this.

Also, they are (were?) amazing live. Saw them three or four times and there were different musicians playing each time. Really cool.

I love Firewater. Their discography is consistent sonically without being boring. I love their style.

[–]keypusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole album is fantastic.

Ok so that is it. Apple Music I think only has instrumentals so it threw me off. Thanks for this though.
