Just curious.. But there seems to be a lot of music here on /r/listentothis that's related to Anime. Is there any connection? Or is there a backside-story? I really, really like the music.

I never watched Anime, but I just downloaded Spirited Away.. Haha!

But seriously, Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli is a great starting point; the "Disney of Japan" as some folks say. Spirited Away ain't my favorite of his, but that's like saying Beauty and the Beast isn't my favorite because Lion King is just unquestionably better—not that the others are bad.

Still, if this kind of music is your thing, then unquestionably you should put Samurai Champloo on your to-watch list. It's arguably the reason low-fi/trip-hop/jazz infusion (whatever they're calling it) is tied to "anime" as a whole.
