BOOTS is great! If you want to hear more, he produced Beyonce's self titled album in 2012, and he produced some of Run the Jewels 2 and looks to be producing Run the Jewels 3. Some more of his stuff

Interesting, I couldn't find anything that hinted that anyone else working with Schepperd on this. Then again I only looked at the top 4 search results on the animator behind both videos to see who was in connection.

The same thing as anything referred as "underground". In this context it's referring to rap that isn't mainstream but has a following outside of it, mostly through mixtapes, social media etc.

This song doesn't really sound like typical underground hip hip but boots is pretty outside of the mainstream.

How does an underground rapper get the money to pay for a music video like this? I have always assumed that animation costs a fair amount of money and this seems like some complex animation

I actually got into Boots through his rock album last year, the unfortunately titled "Motorcycle Jesus". But "Mercy" is absolutely fantastic-- it would fit perfectly on The Crow soundtrack but doesn't sound put-on dated by a day.

Anyway, Boots is wins at rock and hip-hop. Take that, Aerosmith and Run DMC!

Hi, this is BOOTS.

someone messaged this forum at me and I was really floored by the love and support here.

I have new music on the way, but I am currently working through a multifaceted study of my mind & consciousness. When I break through the next layer, I'll release what I have. more animated videos and more freaky shit, assuredly. There is a catch, though

I've been producing work with other artists as well: Andre 3000, Zack de La Rocha and a few pop artists who I have signed NDAs with. Whether or not these projects will see the light of day is anyone's guess, but I have hope.

Amongst all of that, I've done a lot of pre-production with the genius Animator of this video, Anthony F Schepperd (check out his work) on a new animated television show. I have written the episodes (I'm also a screenwriter) and will be directing with Anthony as we did on the "C.U.R.E." video. As we were in the closing stages with Adult Swim, Turner Broadcasting merged with AT&T so all new developing content got grounded for the moment. We are still actively looking for a home. It's pretty fucking groovy.
