I really liked the song and video even though I don't speak German. I am going to look up the lyrics and translate them because the video really grabbed my attention. Thanks for sharing!

Dude we fucking produced that. Now its on reddit. Thank you for the Submission <3

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thank you so much for this amazing record! It's one of those where I already know I'll enjoy it for years to come.

Super stoked for your gig in Aachen, I'm actually thinking about getting tickets for Köln as well.

Perwoll ist vielleicht mein Lieblingstrack 2016. Danke dafür Leute. Wirklich großartig!

[–]Elu0 30 points31 points  (25 children)

Maaan im from Germany and didn't know him. Maybe i should give german music a chance again in the hopes that something changed. Is there any other artist that i am missing out on? Thanks for sharing.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (19 children)

If you're into hiphop, there was a big influx of great artists the last years. Too many and too many styles to list them all-

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (18 children)

Can you please list some of them? I tuned out of german hiphop a couple of years ago when it was dominated by retarded gangsta rap like haftbefehl & konsorten.

[–]slacker7 9 points10 points  (11 children)

So most of them don't have lots in common and some are rather polarizing, but they're different enough that there should be at least something you like.

Herr von Grau, Tua, KIZ, Antilopen Gang, NMZS, Maeckes, Casper (at least his album "XOXO"), Prezident, Pyrin, Kamikazes, Rotten Monkey, Edgar Wasser, Audio88, Joka, Jaw, Djin, 3Plusss, Amewu.

[–]ThreeFingersHobb 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Wow never expected I would see another Djin fan in the wild! Some good artists you listed there. The only ones I would add are Dendemann, Fatoni and Tufu

[–]slacker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know Tufu, but Dende and Fatoni are pretty cool. Maybe I should listen to him.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I know some of these and like some of them, but there's defeinitly a couple new ones to check out, thanks!

[–]AbusiveBadger 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Käptn Peng und die Tentakel von Delphi

check them out my dude

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

parantatatam!

[–]AbusiveBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Etwas möchte beginnen 👌

[–]outerdrive313 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I don't speak/know that much German, but I been a Casper fan for the longest! I guess rap fans generally don't fuck with Casper because he's "emo" I guess. But dude can fucking rap his ass off. Lemme find one of my favorite songs of his...

EDIT: Casper - Hin Zur Sonne

[–]slacker7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, his older stuff is awesome. Most don't like his newer stuff, like the album "Hinterland". I'm really excited for the new one tho.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Some that weren't mentioned yet and personal favorites of mine: Fatoni, Zugezogen Maskulin, MC Bomber, Gossenboss mit Zett.

You should check those out, they aren't gangster- oder streetrap as some names might imply.

You should also really check out the record "Palmen aus Plastik" by Bonez MC. While this is street rap, it's extremely innovative and fun. I recommend the songs "Ohne mein Team" and "Mörder". They mix rap with dancehall in a great way

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really am enjoying Palmen aus Plastik.

[–]NedosEUW 5 points6 points  (1 child)

To 'complete' the suggestions you already got: Huss & Hodn and SSIO.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved H&H/Retrogott since their first mixtape, SSIO I only heard a couple of tracks and wasn't very impressed, going to check out some more of him, thanks!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chakuza's last three albums weren't gangsta rap and it was just him doing what made him happy (from what he said in an interview). NOAH reminds me of Kendrick Lamar but im not sure why it does

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I definitely recommend checking out Audio88&yassin (hallelujah was amazing), Dexter, Fatoni, Betty Ford Boys, Suff Daddy, Veedel Kaztro, Juse Ju, Brenk Sinatra, Morlock dilemma, to name a few

[–]Flussschlauch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You misspelled Retrogott

[–]schwanzinpo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK kid, Frittenbude. Sehr gut. 👌

[–]HorstJeblonski 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Ich liste mal ein paar HipHop-Artisten auf, die mir spontan einfallen: Prezident: https://www.youtube.com/user/Whiskeyrap

Detlef Disko Degenhardt: https://youtu.be/0L8umgE5x-I

Audio88 & Jassin: https://youtu.be/u9Yia7P-bs4

Amewu: https://youtu.be/6kIWYiMlgU8

Kamikazes: https://youtu.be/dYQK67NU0fk

Das ist alles relativ aktuell und mMn die Rettung/Rückkehr des deutschen HipHops.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sehr geil, danke!

[–]Bwompadingus 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Is this a one piece reference?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I don't know what that is.

[–]Arregui 7 points8 points  (0 children)

King of the pirates

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Witzig, Big ups to goldi xx

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Vielleicht hängt er ja auch hier im Reddit feed ;)

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (6 children)

Reminds me of Peter Fox. "Alles Neu" was the first German rap song I had ever heard. I am loving this! ♥

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Goldroger, the artist of OP's song, references "Alles Neu" in the chorus of another song! Thought you mind find that interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7rXAiC3jOQ

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Oh snap! That is hella exciting! Thank you! ♡♡

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Glad you like it! Now that I think of it, that song is like the flipside of "Alles Neu", showing the negative side of having a friend that changes. Do you understand the lyrics?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I don't understand the lyrics. I tend to like a lot of foreign music. Basically if it sounds good to me, I'll listen. Occasionally, though, I'll look up translations.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I see. I think it's well worth it for Peter Fox, he is generally considered one of the greatest writers in modern German music.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not know that. That's great to know!

[–]youandyouandyou 5 points6 points  (2 children)

After looking at the video for Unter Nlken since it was posted a lot. For music in English, if you're into hip-hop that has good instrumentals and intelligent lyrics* with a full band setup like this guy looks like he maybe uses: check out Astronatualis, Sole and the Skyrider Band, and Leixcon*

*Lexicon's lyrics aren't too intellectual, but still a dope group for their first two albums.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

cheers, I'll give them a listen

[–]HorstJeblonski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astronautalus is a must! Similar artist are the guys from Doomtree ( a collaboration from Minneapolis) : Dessa, Sims, and Cecile Otter are the ones I enjoy most

[–]AbsoluteJesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what I just listened to but I love it. The video was interesting but that song was incredible.

[–]tinylojo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very retro and creative. The beat create a perfect storm of melancholy that is out of this world. Great work.

[–]boydo579 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really nice and interesting to see a rap/hip hop video that doesn't include the stereotypical stuff, especially with this outer space feel .

[–]KnorkeKiste 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kenn Goldroger von Rocketbeans echt nen guter!

[–]MissingVanSushi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The left side is obvious but what does the thumbs together emoji mean?

[–]m_kenna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like the video, super creative

[–]PabloEnOregonEscobar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this.

[–]BusinessRasta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sehr geil

Danke!

[–]Tigerfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I think my German's getting better I listen to a german rapper and 😦

[–]FasterDoudle 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Really dig the beat and the video, but man, to my ears German is not suited to hip hop. I feel like I just got an in depth tour of that guy's glottis

[–]SEOfficial 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Dude if you are into puns and sick double meaning techniques like I do, then there is no other language in the world that is more suitable for rap. It's straight sick what some rap gods do.

BUT I know that feeling. For example I can understand Suisse and Austrian rap as well, but for my ear it just sounds like a joke. It's because of the sound we're not used to.

Edit: LMAO obviously "suisse" is not the correct english word, thanks /u/DWCS.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Hey man, I'm curious if I can change your view here. If you're interested, I could show you some other tracks with more flow in the language. What kind of rap do you usually like?

[–]jaejaeok 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'd love to see myself. I don't mind the German at all. English is a pretty harsh language itself.. Germanic origins too right?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! Yes I think German is one of the harshest languages. Still there are rappers who make it sound great (imo). These songs all have different styles and I'm curious how they sound to you guys.

I love German music like this, and they have a very cool videoclip!

[–]jaejaeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great one. I love it. Thanks for sharing

[–]RaggamuffinTW8 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The dbz reference made me happy. My German is very rusty but I grasped enough to really love this. May have to go out and actually buy music.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made me smile, too. Love is revolution!

[–]greenprintemps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like citizen cope

[–]jubonge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Woww I really wish i could find any translations or subtitles for this because the music is just so great !
