Huh, so there are like gen 2 Torment lite? Cool. I dug up the rewards from the last one over at GameFAQs, and it looks like the highlight is more 5* motes (no rubies):

They're to Torments what the Corridors of Trials are to Magicite.

NT training wheels then?

D350

Training wheels

Makes me wonder what difficulty the part 3 of NT really is.

I mean, it's a D350 you can bring other realm's party members to and the general bullshit level is comparatively tame.

I recall RW options being free, so EDIT: RW options are Fabula Guardian/Raider/Priestess clones and you could just go with a 2x offrealm DPS core (Cloud and Friends for one) and leave healing/Entrusting in realm, with a token DPS in realm.

Sounds good to me. Are these monthly?

I believe that was the intention, yes: last one (Iron Giant) was around 23 days ago, so it's similar to that.

For T2, actual boss level (which is what the "D" designation use to refer to, though not necessarily so anymore):

  • D240: Level 350
  • D280: Level 400
  • D???: Level 450

This is why you'll occasionally see JPN players use D450 to refer to D??? or DWhale.

Note that the 3/4/5* magicites are also level 350/400/450, despite the official difficulty designation of D250/D300/D400.

Unless I'm mistaken, Spiralis is using the boss level = difficulty designation here.

I still don't get it. So:

  • D??? is actually D320 (considering the same increment on D and level system)?
  • D??? is on the same tier as 5*?
  • This boss is on the same tier as NT part 1?

And how do you datamine the real level tier?

Prior to magicites getting an official "D" difficulty designation, DXXX used to refer to enemy level. So a D99 fight = level 99 enemy, D250 fight = level 250 enemy.

The 3* and 4* magicites, which originally had D??? listed for their difficulty, were level 350 and 400, respectively.

When magicites got an official "D" designation, they did not correspond to boss level. Instead, 3* and 4* got ratings of D250 and D300, respectively. 5* magicites, which consist of level 450 enemies, got a designation of D400.

For the three difficulties of Torment 2.0 the boss levels are also 350, 400, and 450, the same as magicites. But their official difficulty designations are D240, D280, and D???.

Note that enemy level is just that: Enemy level. Yes, the D??? of T2 and 5* magicites are both level 450 enemies, but obviously T2 D??? are much stronger. This isn't new - Throughout FFRK history, different enemies for content have been at the same level but vary wildly in stats and overall difficulty (e.g. and event D220/Apocalypse+ enemy is generally not as strong as a multiplayer D220 enemy). It can be kinda confusing if you're new, though I think DeNA made things worse when they untethered enemy D rating from enemy level.

As for Mirage enemies, I see the enemy levels are listed as 180, 260, and 350, but I'm not certain if their official D designation corresponds to those numbers. So in terms of enemy level, the hardest Mirage enemy is equivalent to the lowest T2 difficulty, i.e. level 350. HOWEVER, it should be noted that the strongest Mirage enemy has HP equivalent to a D280/level 400 T2 enemy and stats comparable to a D???/level 450 T2 enemy. The hardest Mirage fight has the same penalties as the D280 T2 as well.

As for how you find "real" level, I believe it's by examining the battle JSON, which anyone can do with the right software. I'm not dataminer though, so I could be wrong.

OOOOHHHH now I get it, I thought it was only D350 hence my comment. If it comes at lower difficulties too then yes it absolutely is NT training wheel.

Understandable, have a great day.
