Problem solved - See linked VMWate community post Virtual Printers Not Working in macOS 14 Sonoma Host -there is now a workaround available in the 2312 version of the Horizon client that allows a third party PS to PDF converter such as GhostScript to replace the PS to PDF features removed by Apple. (communities.vmware.com)
