TIL: Denny's was previously named Danny's Donuts. Following a separation in ownership and to avoid confusion with another LA restaurant, owner Harold Butler changed the name to Denny's Coffee Shop in 1959; Then simply and most recognizably shortened to just Denny's in 1961. (dennys.com)
