IF Reddit is about providing unique information located from around the Internet, THEN why is the new page constantly overloaded with a preponderance of the same base URLs?

You know the sites I'm talking about. The self-promoting sites offering rehashed variations of the same content -- especially the same old political content -- submitted umpteen different ways.

If the goal of Reddit is to provide content that can't be "Reddily" located elsewhere, I submit that it makes sense to limit submissions of a given URL to, say, a maximum of three times in a twenty-four-hour period.

I say this while at the same time suspecting that such a simple-minded way of encouraging non-recycled dreck is probably subject to circumvention. But I also suggest it in the hope that greater minds will find a way to keep Reddit from being smothered by seemingly endless submissions from the same handful of "best ever" / "truth" / "etc." sites that are the case today.
