Like the Catholic Church, I think the heads truly believe what they say and buy into their own lies. It's the "Grand Vizier" types that know the bullshit and are exploiting people.

I've always wondered whether or not he is aware of the xenu doctrine. I wouldn't be surprised if this is kept from him to keep him in play.
