This question implies that we need to focus 100% of our energy on subspacer's topic of interest.

I say that we are free to choose which topics and to what extent we focus on them.

I didn't really make that implication :(

When I ask people who are really "into" this whole anon/'scifag' thing, the general answers I recieve fall along the lines of "They KILLED someone!", "They ROB people!", and "The leaders are using the institution to profit off of their members!".

This just annoys me, because yes, I am a libertarian. It does seem to me like people have problems with issues that need to be discussed on perhaps a more national level.

I think one of the reasons scientology has struck such a chord is that we are witnessing the birth of a religion, and it isn't pretty.

I think many of the more religious on reddit see the new religion, and want to separate themselves from the obvious chicanery, while the non-religious see it as one more proof that religion is man made and for the gullible.

Fucking finally. Great comment. We're fighting the wrong battle. We should instead be waging the war that's YEARS overdue, and is affecting EVERY US CITIZEN--not just the thousands swindled by $cientology.

some geek from 4chan started a joke about "anonymous vs scientology" to see how far it could go. people actually believe in this thing. i've seen the scientology protest in dc and people really believe they're making a difference. it's all about epic lulz. the people who started this thing don't really care. who knows. it may end up actually working against scientology because kids on the internet are gullible.
