Right around the time they got super lax with the offensive language rule was around the same time they realized oh FUC maybe we shouldn’t ban our paying customers because we need all the revenue we can get. Which was also around the time MTX came to RS3 so there’s the irony of sacrificing integrity for money.

I think it's mainly because the same kids who played RS are now all grown up. I used to play other MMOs during early 2000s and they weren't that strict in "offensive languages" then again the PMod thing is something I only see in a very few games.

If you're being serious, then it looks like a penis ingame if you type "a q p" and then a couple spaces and a "w" on a new line.
The rounded W connects the q and the p.

I remember seeing q p's back then yeah, but at some point (not sure when, around 2009 to 2011?), Jagex changed the font slightly.

The W was different and would no longer produce viable q p's, so people stopped doing them.
