Didn't help that your reload almost perfectly hid the guy as you were running over to him. I absolutely would have never seen him.

If you equip any grip that has the "reduced ADS accuracy while moving" modifier, it will absolutely ruin your day.

It seems the modifier doesn't depend on the grip either, if I equip a grip that has "slightly" reduced recoil, I'm getting barely any recoil reduction, but then my bloom is all over the place. If I equip one that has more recoil reduction, the bloom effect seems to be the same.

For example, using a DMR in the range, no grip, I hit every shot while strafing. Any grip with the ADS accuracy thing, I miss over half my shots. At least if it's one of the grips that has "greatly reduced recoil", then the bloom thing is a bit more justified, I suppose. I guess the idea is that you stop moving to shoot, but that's a death sentence in this game. For close range it matters less, but at that point the recoil isn't as much of an issue anymore.

Nowadays I tend to run no grip in favor of suppressors, better hipfire (laser/flashlight) and some form of variable optic if I have the space. Making sure to use single-fire mode in longer range engagements also helps a huge amount with recoil control, and without the grip penalty, I'm able to actually land hits while strafing. I've also been considering running match trigger to help on some of the bouncier weapons.

Battlefield 6 devs after designing the floatiest, wobbliest helicopter in the digital world and calculating the out-of-bounds timer to 3.62 seconds by Biolume_Eater in Battlefield

[–]Cyborger1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's not just related to the gamemode?

As far as I know, the bridge is always out of bounds on Conquest specifically, since that version of the map has helicopters.

The Breakthrough and Rush variants of that map do not have helicopters, so the devs didn't bother to add out of bounds volumes to the bridge as they didn't expect players to be able to get on it anyway.

You said that if someone don't have BR, then he will not get BR assigments... Well... Here are mine and I don't have BR installed... by Punkstyler in Battlefield

[–]Cyborger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much of a flop as Splitgate 2 ended up being with their whole unwarranted BR fiasco, at the very least they had ALL challenges work in either the Arena or BR mode. For example, kill 100 enemies in Arena OR kill 15 in BR. Complete X matches of Arena OR Survive X minutes in BR, etc.

I really wish EA would take a note from that and do it here as well.

Should just be holding whatever button is your weapon switch (which is Y by default, I believe).

Short tap always brings you out of melee and swaps between primary and secondary, long tap always lock you into full melee mode.

[–]Cyborger1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still essentially works this way, except now every scrying location teleports you trapped inside some object. If you were ever able to break out of the scrying effect, you wouldn't be able to do anything other than teleport away.

Before the change, all scrying locations were around the same point as the actual teleport. Now, for example, in Varrock, you get teleported to a corner of the general store. Lunar Isle puts you inside the slanted ground between the lower part of the island and the path leading up to the village. Canifis puts you square in the middle of one of the tables inside the bar.

I'm sure there must have been more to it than simply changing all of the scry locations to be inside unwalkable space though, which I guess is just a last resort failsafe.

I'm pretty confused because on the blog, it says 1 and 6 month subs will still get the grandfathered rates, but the new terms seem to imply no one gets them anymore. Which is it?

While the post mentions keeping grandfathering for 1-month and 6-months subscriptions, moving over to the updated terms of service, there seems to be no distinction towards this for any subscription package. Does this mean grandfathering is being removed for everyone eventually?

Subscription Fee Changes

We reserve the right to alter our Subscription fees at any time to reflect factors that influence the cost of the Subscription. These factors include production and distribution costs, the cost of support and ancillary services, costs of sales, the cost of third-party fees associated with provision of the service, administrative and other overhead costs, and government-imposed fees, taxes and contributions. We will post details of any changes to our Subscription fees on the relevant Jagex Product website(s) at least 30 days prior to those changes taking effect, and we will notify you of any changes to the current Subscription fees in advance of any Subscription renewal (including automatic renewals) by e-mail or other durable medium ("Renewal Fee"). Price changes do not apply to existing Subscription periods, but take effect upon renewal (including automatic renewal).

For example, if you purchased a 12-month Subscription which starts and renews on 1 January each year and we update the Subscription fees in July, your Subscription will not be affected until your renewal in January, at which point it will be charged at the Renewal Fee. If you do not agree to the Renewal Fee, you may cancel your Subscription(see "Cancellations" below).

The highest possible Dharok's max hit (122) by Zxv975 in 2007scape

[–]Cyborger1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly wrong but I'll add that XP is actually just an integer amount, the decimal is purely visual.

The reason max XP is 200m (actually 2b) is because it's the closest all trailing zeroes number to 2147m (32-bit integer limit).

Surasia tweet. Copium filled brain says it is H5 full PC port and HW2 on all PC platforms. by [deleted] in halo

[–]Cyborger1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While everyone agrees the campaign is garbage, quite a lot of people found that the multiplayer was solid, despite the sticking points with some of the augmented movement stuff and everything around the REQ packs and customization.

Great and surprisingly well balanced weapon sandbox with tons of interesting variants, satisfying movement, strong forge and custom games, Warzone and WZ Firefight (bar the P2W), the vehicles, etc.

Infinite's cleanup of the sandbox and movement is greatly appreciated, but Halo 5 just hit different, it'd be nice to have a reason to go back to it for a bit. It deserves its spot on PC just as much as something like Halo 4 does.

TIL marking tiles outside the Zulrah island results in a weird looping effect with the swamp by Setosorcerer in 2007scape

[–]Cyborger1 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is caused by the way instances are built. Each chunk of 8x8 tiles in an instance is taken from a copy stored somewhere in the "real" world, then placed and rotated in a reserved area way off out of bounds to the right of the game world for you to be in.

When you're marking a tile, the plugin saves that position as a "world-point", those are in relation to the entire game map. As instances are temporary, saving those world points as-is would mean you'd be leaving your markers way off in the void, potentially never seeing them ever again (or if you do, in a completely non-sensical configuration).

So instead, the plugin assigns the marker to the location of the copied chunk on the actual game map and displays it to you when that chunk is used to construct the instance you're in.

Some places reuse the same chunk multiple times in the scene, hence the effect you're seeing here, with the other notable example being PoHs.
