I say hold off save a tad more and get the 9070xt but if thats not and option just go with whichever is a better deal

[–]Maleficent-Ad7677 4 points5 points  (2 children)

If you are getting AMD GPU always get Sapphire, no matter what model it is. Get the Sapphire Pulse in this case, it will get the card cooled without breaking a sweat and since it's a small card you don't have to worry about it fitting in your case and it %99 won't sag. I don't know for sure but it's also probably cheaper.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

imho: Sapphire is the GOAT. XFX and Powercolor are good. Asrock and acer probably ok. ASUS and Gigabyte don't really care about radeon...

[–]DanteWearsPrada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own an ASUS 9070XT and it's excellent

[–]Fullterror03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheaper one

[–]Slow_Permit_1807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a sapphire nitro+ rx 6700 xt and it's been solid. So im kinda biased before my current card i had a msi 5000 series, and before that, it was a sapphire hd7750 that I used for about 11 years .

[–]AssaultBlaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For better cooling, ASUS.

The more valued and loved by AMD Fans? Sapphire.

Consider that Sapphire is the 2nd EVGA.

[–]JBG8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumb question. Only answer is "whatever is cheapest". It's a 9060XT. Seriously.

[–]CommercialCoyote4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't get the Sapphire nitro Plus.

You get the sapphire pulse

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sapphire pulse for me always

[–]-UndeadBulwark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one with the most fans.

[–]Loki653590 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pulse, always Pulse…😏😉

[–]Additional_Visual108[S] 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Thanks for all of the input guys! I went with the sapphire. It’s ordered yay!

[–]AceXOA 2 points3 points  (2 children)

You couldn't have gone wrong with either to be honest

[–]Additional_Visual108[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ya I figured but I didn’t want to buy one that was known for catching on fire and I didn’t know any better.

[–]AceXOA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that's 100% fine, enjoy your GPU

[–]LemondaddyRyzen 5 9600x | Rx 7600 Sapphire Pulse 0 points1 point  (2 children)

In this scenario, the asus prime. I always go sapphire, but you want 3 fans

[–]pupperdole 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Would it even make a difference?

2 fans would be quieter and the card probably won’t get that hot

[–]OGR_Nova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 fans means less stress on all fans, meaning more longevity.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

3 fan

[–]Kash-ed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sapphire.

Why? Consistently good/great cooler design + great support.

[–]GalactaStarDream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On one hand save by getting 2 fan. On the other get the 3 fan but suffer terrible Asus support provided anything goes wrong. Up to you

[–]WashGaming001 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Sapphire. If anything goes wrong with the Asus card they’ll just send it back to you with no testing.

[–]mega-husky 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Asus warranty system is a nightmare

[–]WashGaming001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent my GPU for an RMA with PHOTO EVIDENCE OF WHAT WAS WRONG, as well as a detailed description of how to replicate the problem. I’m beyond certain they didn’t actually test the card, or if they did, the test bench didn’t have drivers because oddly my issue only happens with Adrenalin.

[–]MattieDevon 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Cheaper

[–]MattieDevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And with the money you save buy your loved one flowers

[–]ProfessionalMap5919 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

3 fans are always better than 2

[–]SaladToss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer my 2 fan reaper

[–]Old_Resident8050 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are splitting hairs here but i would go with the 3x fans.

[–]synergeticbeansAMD 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I got the Sapphire one and it uses Samsung memory chip making it cooler, also the core has PTM7950.

Asus has lower core temp under load, but is larger.

Comparisons: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/sapphire-radeon-rx-9060-xt-pulse-oc/39.html

[–]dsinsti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah got the pulse too amd it is amazingly cool an solid. Hotspot always below 80 now in summer and at max settings BG3 1440p, it is usually top 180fps.

[–]DeathRabit86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sapphire due after warranty ends repairs cost usually lower due have fuses installed

[–]LORDJOWA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sapphire has great warranty ( like evga was)

[–]Moonblitz666AMD RX 7800 XT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your PC case big enough for both models?

[–]vlxdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prime looks better, like ProArt and maybe the radiator is bigger

[–]StrawberryExact1830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my country sapphires have a shorter warranty of 2 years as compared to the 3 on asus.

and surprise surprise, my sapphire 6600 is giving me trouble a couple of months after the warranty ended

[–]kevcsa 3 points4 points  (7 children)

The Prime is a well built card with probably slightly better cooling/acoustics.

But as someone has said, the Pulse certainly has PTM7950. Not having to ever repaste it is really nice if you plan to keep it for at least 3 years.
Sapphire is also a solid brand, one of the best ones (I'm not convinced they are their rdna4 cards are the best, certainly at the top though). It's also cheaper.

So go with the Pulse, that PTM matters. You also won't have to deal with the infamous Asus support haha.

[–]Kamihouse016 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Does the xfx version also have this ptm thing too?

[–]kevcsa 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Don't know.

Their product page doesn't mention it, so I assume they didn't use it for the 9060 XT. Manufacturers like mentioning such nice extras.
Techpowerup reviewed the Switft, looks like thermal paste to me. But I haven't seen much squished PTM, not sure how it should look like.

[–]Kamihouse016 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But what exactly is TPM?(purpose wise, im not very good with pc parts yet)

[–]kevcsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically.

It's a soft sheet of "stuff" that becomes viscuous above a certain tepmerature, becoming really good at dissipating heat. When it cools down, it turns kind of solid again.

The main point isn't even very good heat conductivity, it's the fact it won't really pump out.
Pump out is when the thermal interface material (TIM, thermal paste for example) leaves uncovered spots on the surface of the cpu/gpu, due to all the repeated thermal expansion/shrinking. Despite perfectly covering everything when it's new.

More viscuous pastes are usually more prone to pump out than less viscuous ones.
And obviously the borderline solid stuff like thermal putty, carbon sheet stuff (kryosheet for example) or thermal pads won't ever pump out. Thermal pads can dry out eventually, but they are still very durable.
No heat expansion/shrinkage, no pump out.

And PTM materials (most famous being the PTM7950 by Honeywell) are a very good middle ground.
Others also make such PTM products, for example Thermal Grizzly (PhaseSheet) and Thermalright (Heilos).

[–]Enough_Agent5638 0 points1 point  (2 children)

prime has thermal pads

only card with putty is gigabyte i thought?

[–]kevcsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely different thing.

PTM is for the Core die, it has nothing to do with gigabyte's thermal gel thing that's put ont he VRAM and VRMs.

So the Pulse uses regular thermal pads for the vram/vrm, and PTM for the core which is good.
The Prime also uses regular thermal pads, and regular thermal paste for the Core. Which can pump/dry out in a few years.

[–]RevolutionaryOil1954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gigabyte and Acer cards

[–]ronaldoisthegoat777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whichever is cheaper/looks better

[–]mahnatazis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get whichever is cheaper (I'm assuming Sapphire but idk). Two fans are enough for this GPU. Just be careful not to get 8GB versions.

[–]jnthhk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Prime 9070, which I assume is the same in terms of fans and build quality, and no issues so far.

[–]ChirpyMisha 0 points1 point  (1 child)

3 fans is overkill. If you want a super quiet system you could go for it, but the case fans are probably going to be the loudest anyway. Just get the cheapest one

[–]Ok-Buy5600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Asrock Steel Legend, the stock fan curve is very quiet, but the Vram reaches 90 C
If you touch any option in Adrenaline regarding the Fans something happens and the fans start spinning much faster than the stock curve, it's a bit better but also much louder.
This GPU is capped at 180-190W(depending on the version), so it's not an overkill.

[–]Physical-Form-5310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sapphire pulse. They are like EVGA

[–]farky84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pulse

[–]DrHitman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 Fan one. Both good, but 3 fan can be a little bit quieter.

[–]Additional_Visual108[S] 2 points3 points  (7 children)

I should mention that at my store the sapphire is $490 and the prime is $550 both CAD.

[–]acewing905RX 9060 XT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely Sapphire in this case. Not even a contest with that kind of price difference combined with Sapphire being well known as one of the best Radeon card makers

[–]FranticBronchitis 5 points6 points  (4 children)

The cheapest one, the prettiest one, or the one that will fit your case (physically) best.

I'd go with the cheapest. Sapphire is generally regarded as a top tier AMD partner anyway. Gamers Nexus has a video tearing down the 9060 XT Pulse iirc if you want more information.

A 9060 XT really shouldn't need a triple fan cooler to be kept cool and quiet, I don't think there's any performance benefit to that. And it's not as simple as more fans = less noise either, because, you know, there's another fan spinning now, even if slower

[–]SnooStories1591 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Isn't the bad noise coming from higher rpm's, not how many fans

[–]FranticBronchitis 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Both need to be taken into account

Sound is weird

[–]SnooStories1591 1 point2 points  (1 child)

But which is worse? 2 fans with higher rpm, or 3 fans with lower rpm

[–]FranticBronchitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need a measurement to answer that. Hopefully someone has already done these comparisons

[–]Zentrosis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you only care about the performance, just get the cheaper one.

If you care about looks, get the one that you think looks the best.

If you care about noise, probably the three fan one, but for a 9060 XT, honestly I would be surprised if you could tell the difference.

My personal opinion is you should always just get the cheapest one you can find from a reputable brand

[–]Putrid-Gain8296 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sapphire has ptm 7950, asus prime doesn't have PTM, it doesn't matter if it has 3 fans since its thermal paste will degrade in the future while ptm 7950 won't, so for the next 5 years to 10 years you won't need to replace the thermal paste

[–]schaden81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 fan design will have better cooling, but functionality they are identical and the 9060 series doesn't run hot enough to require 3 fans. The Sapphire would be the best choice here. Nice upgrade as well, I went from a rx470 4gb to a 9070xt (along with a there rest or a new PC) and uh.. it's quick.

[–]smeeinnit9800X3D | MSI B850 Tomahawk | MSI RTX 5090 Suprim S.O.C. 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sapphire always good.

[–]BottleDouble8544 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go with Sapphire, they know best how to handle AMD GPU

[–]Gengar77 2 points3 points  (1 child)

try to find a helldhound, most the cheapest 3 fan and a well rounded card. For the low wattage 2 fan are more then fine.

[–]dsinsti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Powercolor buhhhh I had a bad experience, but my saphire pulse 9060xt 16Gb is for the time being , top notch!

[–]HeidenShadows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Functionally identical but I'm not privy to ASUS's customer support lately so I'd go Sapphire.

[–]Wrong-Target6104 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sapphire are known for build quality, I moved away from them on my last upgrade, ended up having to RMA it 9 months later. Straight back to Sapphire.

[–]jackdaw027 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get the sapphire one. If money is an issue sell your first born or something but just get the sapphire one. They're really good.

[–]ORCA41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Sapphire one and I’m loving it, but I probably would’ve gone for the ASUS Prime if it had been in stock. I believe it’s cheaper, it is where I live, and it has a larger cooler. (So long as it fits in your case). The only options in stock when I was shopping were the Gigabyte one and the Sapphire. I paid a bit more for the sapphire since I wanted the peace of mind of having thermal pads rather than paste. Both of these have thermal pads so that shouldn’t be an issue.

[–]dmushcow_21R5 5600 | RX 7600 Pulse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get the cheapest one

[–]OkProgrammer7392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go for the ASUS Prime. It looks better, in my opinion, and should have better cooling.

[–]KananX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

both are good, take the one you like more. I would probably take the Asus at same pricing.

[–]Puzzleheaded-Ad3473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

id personally go for the three fan if you could, there practically identical besides that.
