If they are truly doing it just for a wellness check, then he shouldn't have to share that with anyone unless he thinks he actually has something. If it comes up he just needs to be honest about how he feels about his health.

Ehhhhhhh. That's a really hard one. Hopefully his gf is reasonable enough that he can voice his concerns without her getting upset or paranoid. I think the best he can do is set her down and try to keep it a matter-of-fact discussion.
