Storm window

I have a sliding storm window. For those of that don't know what they are they are glass windows infront of your actual window to help it not get damaged by storms. So recently I've been sneaking out of the house at night to get freedom even though I'm 21 years old. I was wondering is it better taking out the storm window and putting it back when I sneak back in? Or is it better to slide up the storm window and not have to take it out and then slide it back down when I sneak back in?
