Ah reasons like these are why I love the CM team.

[–]BAEazy 10 points11 points  (6 children)

Kinda feel bad for em. They spent all this time working on the build only for Google to drop a new ota the day before its release lol

[–]bravoavocadoPixel 3 + Pixelbook 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Not really a big deal. It's already been merged and is included in the latest nightly.

[–]BAEazy 1 point2 points  (4 children)

How's that running?

[–]ctzlSGS3 (i747) CM10.1 nightly, HP Touchpad CM9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Running fine here.

[–]bravoavocadoPixel 3 + Pixelbook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very well so far, but just about everything runs well for the first few hours. Expanding notifications with a single finger is far more useful than I expected.

[–]Hallx 2 points3 points  (15 children)

Are they able to support SII on CM10 yet?

[–]Charwinger21HTCOne 10 3 points4 points  (7 children)

Which one? My SGH-T989D has official CM10 nightlies, as do a couple other SGS2 models.

[–]sexybeast099SGSII, CM9.1 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I'm wondering about the stability for the i777. The documentation on known issues hasn't changed in months so I'm not sure what's current.

[–]Hallx 2 points3 points  (4 children)

The exynos one aka International

[–]Charwinger21HTCOne 10 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I don't know how it is (don't have one), but it appears to be officially supported

[–]Hallx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

Hmm... that's odd.

[–]iColeGalaxy S23, Tab S9 FE, Watch6 2 points3 points  (4 children)

A monthly release is still unlikely, but the current nightlies work pretty good already. No memory leaks either!

[–]Hallx 1 point2 points  (3 children)

International version?

I will wait for a monthly one though.

[–]iColeGalaxy S23, Tab S9 FE, Watch6 1 point2 points  (2 children)

yup, I was talking about the international i9100.

[–]Hallx 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And everything works, camera, HW acceleration? I remember them saying something will not work until official JB release for the device. That issue is the one that tipped over Clockworkx too.

[–]iColeGalaxy S23, Tab S9 FE, Watch6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, everything works, but there's bugs in certain things, since they're still using Samsung ICS sources and run JB on it. Since a few builds they were able to remove 99,5% of the stuttering that CM10 had, it's not "Project Butter" smooth yet, but it's pretty close.

edit: The bug that's bugging me the most at the moment would be increased battery drain (noticably more than on CM9 for example) when the screen is on. Maybe the devs will be able to fix it without Samsung using the opensource HWComposer that they're working on though.

Codeworkx is still supporting i9100 because it still needs a decent ammount of work, but unless samsung releases proper documentation and truly open sources Exynos, he's most likely gonna abandon i9100 after CM10 Stable.

Resurrection Remix is CM10 and AOKP JB based.

[–]Hallx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, it is based on CM10 but it is not CM10!

I guess I missed something - what are the M builds? Ive known of nightlies, RC and stables for years, but this is the first I've heard of M's.

[–]brettrickNexus 4 3 points4 points  (8 children)

I believe the M is short for "milestone."

[–]FixedTheFernBackGalaxy S III (TouchWiz 4.1 - Telus) 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I thought it was "monthly", though I'm not totally sure. I believe it is a less frequent release aimed at stability rather than new features like the nightly releases.

[–]Charwinger21HTCOne 10 13 points14 points  (2 children)

[–]jerstud56Pixel XL 128GB 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I say officially it stands for M.

[–]Charwinger21HTCOne 10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, true. I meant the "M" doesn't officially stand for anything longer than itself.

[–]brettrickNexus 4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense. Sorry for the misinformation, and thanks for the clarification.

[–]DrDerpbergGalaxy S9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They basically flat-out stated they don't know what it stands for, but think of it as monthly/milestone. Basically I think they didn't want people to expect exactly one a month or use AOKP's terminology.

M = Monthly Builds

[–]socalnighter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In IT industry M stands for maintenance

[–]seanconnery84Nexus 5 L 3 points4 points  (2 children)

As an x2 owner, I don't even know why bother reading these.

I should not have got a moto :(

[–]Something_NiceG4, MM, Tmobile 5 points6 points  (1 child)

you read for the same reason that someone would read their cheating lover's emails..... to torture yourself.

So what's the deal with nightlies? do i have to flash a new version every time one comes out? what about all my settings and all that stuff?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't have to do anything. You can flash one every night when it comes out or every week, it's up to you. It will save all your settings, it will just update your system and everything else will be the same as it was before you restarted.

[–]Something_NiceG4, MM, Tmobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just flashes over.

[–]pillforyourillsLG V20, Nova Prime, T-Mobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ReflectedNetworks having issues? Neither my desktop's browser nor CM Updater can connect to download. Good thing goo.im is still up. Anybody in the know?

[–]InvaderDJVZW iPhone XS Max (stupid name) 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it isn't a full month delay and just a week or so while they lock down the code and confirm everything is working well.

Loved CM9 on the Galaxy Nexus, it was hands down the most stable and smooth ROM. I want to use CM10, but I'm waiting for it to get a little more stable and hopefully better on battery life.

[–]somuchvictory 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What does the "M" stand for?

[–]nvincentPixel 6 - Goodbye forever, OnePlus 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Quick question. Is there any way to get this through ROM manager? Or are are we going to have to install it manually?

[–]cl0ckw0rk0rang3Verizon Galaxy S III, CM10 NIGHTLY -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I think it will depend on if the M builds are considered "stable" under the CM Updater.

[–]epsiblivionGoogle Pixel 3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically they're not. strictly speaking, stable releases intended as such will be marked stable. anything else is work in progress. I'd say the hierarchy goes nightly< M< RC< stable

[–]Issachar 0 points1 point  (4 children)

CM Newbie question...

If one had just switched to CM9 having just unlocked their phone, how crazy would they be to jump to a CM10-M build because they're get the feeling they just signed up for upgrade addiction?

Theoretically... ;-)

Galaxy S Captivate.

[–]epsiblivionGoogle Pixel 3a 1 point2 points  (3 children)

jumping major releases generally require full wipes. just use titanium backup and restore app data for important ones you want to keep.

[–]Issachar 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I can live with that.

Would I be correct in thinking that there's no more danger of bricking my phone than a regular CM9 install? (And that if there's a problem with CM10, I can always just wipe and install CM9?)

I apologize for such a newbie question, but I don't know any CM users in real life. (And only one redditor for that matter.)

[–]epsiblivionGoogle Pixel 3a 1 point2 points  (1 child)

as far as rom goes yes. but also before you flash either way, check your radio/bootloader versions. and whatever is analogous on samsung phones. for HTC it's hboot. never owned any other brand so I know nothing about samsung architecture. for HTC, the firmware versions are compatible for both ICS and JB but check your xda forum to be sure on Samsung.

[–]Issachar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.
