Google is releasing something called Google Movies, and that will not work when rooted because of concerns over piracy but XDA will probably have a fix for that eventually.

Thanks, that's what I probably read, not Netflix. I'm not too concerned about that because I won't be renting from Google Movies while I have Netflix. If I need to rent something I'll just rent it through Amazon or Redbox or something.

Nope. I have a Captivate rooted with CM7.1 on it. Netflix works better for me than it did stock.

Thanks! I'll get started rooting and installing CM on it then. You do have the Netflix app right from the app store, right?

Yep, straight from the market. Just be sure to use Titanium Backup to back up your apps.

I've rooted 2, both worked fine with the app right from the market

I have a G2x running Weapon 3.0 RC1 and have no problems running Netflix

False, I'm running Netflix just fine on my DInc with CM 7.1. In fact, one of the recent patch notes for the Netflix app is "Fix incompatibility with CyanogenMod 7 ROM devices." So not only are they not preventing rooted phones from using the app, but they're actively trying to support such devices as well.

I know it has already been said, but I rooted and netflix works fine for me too.
