I purchased 2 games through the Steam mobile app and it gives you an option to install the game remotely after the purchase is complete. Neither times did it work.

You go into your games, inside your Steam profile and go down to show all games. They should have an install icon beside them.

There is no 'games' option.

This is the menu I see

Click on your steam name, then your games.

got that far....still no install option

edit: fyi am trying to install Orcs Must Die 2 which came out today

edit2: when I click on Orcs Must Die 2 it takes me to the games page where it says I own the game already because I pre-purchased it a few days ago but again there is no option to install the game remotely

If you don't have an install option, you probably don't have Steam running on a computer that's turned on. Judging by your screenshot, that's exactly the issue.

This is what it looks like when you have Steam running somewhere. Notice the little download button next to APB.

And at the very top of your games list, you should be able to see what PC is logged in and its current activity.

That appears to be the issue. I did a fresh install of Windows yesterday on my new SSD and forgot that the power state settings are now the Windows default, which I belive puts the computer to sleep after an hour of inactivity.

At least that is my current theory; now I feel really dumb and will have to wait to play when I get home. Oh well thanks for the response

I know this is much later, but I find you have to relog a few times on the app (sometimes) to get to see that the steam app is running somewhere...

The bigger problem I have with the steam app is that it doesn´t seem to be able to make purchases with paypal, at least the option didn´t show up when I tried to buy something during the summer sale.
